Teams like utd always look they will score at least one a match regardless of how they play. We make it seem like an almighty effort.

Ayew does not look like a striker.  He looks better when he runs from deep.
Potentially a good inside forward?

He looks like a Gabby clone with slightly better technique. We could do with a striker.

Difficult to win when we don't have any shots on target and the ref's playing for ManUre as well

It was an awful game. Both teams looked unfit and sluggish. Rooney was abysmal. One of the worst Utd teams I have ever seen and one that wouldn't have beaten many teams playing like that. Like so many Villa sides of the last 20 years we looked happy to lose 1-0 against them. That is worrying for us. We looked like a team of strangers and very light weight in midfield and attack. We had no creativity. Their goalie, (who is a bag of nerves) only had to throw his cap on one Gabby header. This was despite Man U presenting us with the ball in their half on 6 to 8 occasions. Like everyone else I am mystified what the manager sees in Gabby. Years ago he was young and rubbish, now he is old and rubbish and a stone overweight by modern footballer standards.
Albeit early days, I am not wowed by Ayew for the money we paid, (his brother looked better for Swansea last week on a free). The other 2 midfield players we have bought were no better and I remain unconvinced. I hope they are not Jean Makoun and/or Yacuba Silla revisited. Bacuna is not good enough. I like Gestede & Richards and the left back looks very good. We definitely need better players or the best we can achieve is bottom half of the table.  I would have liked him to try & get Huddlestone from Hull. we will wait & see...
