Not much we could have done as he's been injured most of the season.

How many games has he started? How many was he fit for? 20 maybe?

He's made 9 sub appearances in the league. Apart from when he first arrived he's been injured for pretty much all the other games.

Nine sub appearances. Has he started (aside from Notts County)? I've read he's played 220 league minutes, or thereabouts, which considering he's been fit for roughly half the season in total (1,810 minutes) is a disgrace.

He's played about 180 mins of league football, and has been injured for over half the season.

He's clearly got bags of potential but needed good coaching, a side with structure that allowed him to work to his strengths and plenty of game time.

No wonder he wants out of this farce.

Right, this is pathetic and missing the point. Let's take a step back. Do you believe Adama Traore has played enough football for Aston Villa this season, whilst fit?

He's been injured most of the season, so quite how you expect him on the pitch more is beyond me. As I don't work as a coach for club I have no idea if they judged him fit enough to start any of those 9 games. If he was fully fit i'd have started him, i'm sure the club would as well. Still, call it pathetic and see how that works out for you.

More unsubstantiated nonsense. If you can back up the claims he was only half fit I'll run with it, however without such evidence my position is he should've started some of those nine games and that's only the beginning.

Three successive managers now have not played him. Do you have more information than them? I'm sure if he was fit Sherwood, Garde and now Black would have at least put him on the bench but they didn't. So it's hardly nonsense to take the position that considering he has been injured quite often he hasn't been fit enough to compete for a place on a regular basis.

Well it's hardly going to be fact when I say "I have no idea if they judged him fit enough to start any of those 9 games". Try and keep up.

It's interesting reading the observations of Black on Traore and it probably mirrors everyone who has had to coach him. On a 2 min YouTube clip he is everything you want in a winger. But what all the coaches have clearly identified is that without the ball he can be a liability. It's a part of his game that he has to improve because all of this talk of anyone coming in for him is worthless because all scouts will see the same thing.

We all know what he is capable off going forward and if he can add work rate, positional sense and tracking back to his game he'll be lethal. He certainly deserves an opportunity because those who are currently keeping him our are every bit as useless at their defensive duties. It will be a pleasant change to see him and Grealish play tomorrow.

Was fit over the xmas period and didn't start.

Sometimes you have to look beyond the negatives and see what a player can actually bring as a positive....let's look at it this way Richardson and Bacuna can both track back and help out the fullbacks...shame they're shite in most other aspects.

Our attacks have been so slow and pedestrian all season and with no Benteke to bail us out we've looked utter toothless.

At least Adama offers unpredictability. He also remember has two assists out of nothing at Palace and Sunderland which he created with his pace so he has produced something in his limited minutes.

Him and Grealish need to start tomorrow, at least let's see something different.

If he goes back I'd knock a million off the fee in exchange for loaning him back for a year and maybe a friendly (to be held in 2017 when Messi isn't pissing about at the Olympics).

Would he not have had a bit of decent coaching at Barcelona?
