We got the full range with Traore yesterday, one great run that left their defenders flailing then one hopeless attempt where the ball just trickled out of play. He is clearly very raw but in our current state I don't see what we have got to lose.

Barcelona don't let good players leave.  Starting to think they've sold us a dud here.

Rubbish.

Delofalu, Bojan, Affelay,Pique, Sanchez, Toure, Muniesa off the top of my head. All good players.

Exactly, Delefou is one of the hottest properties in the Premier League right now, gets assists pretty much every week. He was sold by Barca just this summer for a minimal fee of 3-4 million.

I have heard it all now with the Barcelona don't let good players leave comment.  Dear God.  We are 8 points adrift of safety.  We look bereft of ideas in the final third, never mind the crock of crap that is the defence, we have literally nothing to lose, play the bloke for a few games and let's see if anything changes.  Because as sure as hell nothing is changing fast at the minute.

After watching him for the full 90 in the u21's I just came away not knowing whether he'd be a good addition to the first team or not at this stage. You can definitely see why his youtube highlights were so good. The guy is an absolute rarity, he can look brilliant and absolute toilet in equal measure. His work rate and defending seem non-existent and for large parts he just tries to do everything himself. Yet he's capable of moments of jaw dropping brilliance as we saw yesterday. I think it's got to the stage where we must try everything up our sleeves now so I'd look to start him against Newcastle.

He's still so raw though and needs so much coaching to make him the finished article. Whether he'll get the coaching he requires at Villa is another matter.

I think he'll definitely benefit from dropping down to Division 2 with us. He could tear that league a new arsehole.

Yes, we've all seen what happens to promising young players under our coaching over the last few years.....

Of course they do.  Bojan and Deulofeu are both playing really well.  At the other end of the scale you also have Ibrahimovic/Fabregas/Pique.  I'd say that they lose more good players than most clubs simply because their standard is so high that 'good uns' naturally slip through the net.

Barcelona sold Yaya Toure and Alexis Sanchez. You have to be world class to get in their first team.

I am a fully paid up member of the Remi Garde Is The Right Man For Us club so I am allowed to criticise his practice of bringing on Adama for five minutes of  very important games we should be pressing to win.

Remi's use of Adama in my eyes tells us one of two things, either he is either a cautious manager who plays the percentages or he is having his card marked by person or persons unknown at the club. The "selfish", " undisciplined", "raw talent" "only an impact player" "on huge wages" "play for the point" schools of thought for whatever reason are holding sway.

I think if Sherwood had not been looking down the barrel of a home defeat to Notts County and had not left him on to be used as a tackle dummy, Adama would have played in, and favourably affected the early season games when we shipped the damage that has us where we are. He is now being forced down the route of trying to establish himself as a valuable part of the team in five minute play bites. As was apparent against West Ham it takes at least five minutes for the team to adjust its shape to use him to full effect.

Apart from everything else Adama is a crowd pleaser. Does anybody even give a passing thought to the fact that the 38,000 in Villa Park have not seen a home win all season?  Does entertainment count for nothing? I suspect such matters are left to the marketing department.

I am not so sure. He is a crowd pleaser but he is also an absolute loose canon. Did anyone else notice Ayew having to scream at him to get back into position yesterday while he was sauntering back and West Ham had a goal kick? Adama was doing the convenient deafness trick and ignoring. Fair play to Ayew, he dropped deeper to compensate for Adama's arrival and I think he did it off his own back, but that in turn took our most likely source of a goal away from the place where he might score it.

He has bags of natural ability but he has so much to work on. It's difficult to throw him in properly in our situation.

Good point. He's got something but sticking a guy in who doesn't know where he's supposed to be positionally in a team like ours is likely to cause any manager nightmares, let alone Garde who's dealing with at least one self-created f*uck-up per game

I'd like to add Thiago to the already fairly lengthy list of good/great players Barcelona have let go.

I think LTA has a point. They sold Samuel Eto'o, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo and some bloke called Maradona I recently heard about. All players who achieved nothing in their careers.

What bollocks that Barcelona don't let good players leave!  Why is there a buy back clause on Adama? Garde is handling this entirely wrong. Ffs we're 9 points adrift with one win in 18 games. What is the risk in giving the guy a few games instead of Sinclair? You know, Adama might actually grow in confidence if the Manager believed in him. Garde is useless in a relegation scrap - he's not exactly achieved the new  manager bounce has he? More the bounce of a dead cat.

The risk is he offers no protection to his fullback and we have consistently struggled when we allow the ball to be turned over with men committed forward. I agree that he should probably get 20 minutes rather than 5 but the confidence that Garde has started to build could easily disappear if we gamble with his inexperience.
