Erm, why the praise? He never looked like passing to another team mate. He runs in to blind alleys and gets crowded out by the opposition because they know he won't release the ball.

He would be brilliant at Wembley singles but he is no team player.

He's like the little kid st school who has learned the art of step-overs but can't do anything else.

I know  Villa can re-write the rules of stupidity every few days or so, but surely we wouldn't have been so mental to have forked out £7m and £45k a week to a bloke whose only skill is to run blindly into nowhere with the ball seemingly attached to his boot with a piece of string. He deserves time to develop.

He needs to play a lot higher up the pitch. His pass would isolate two opposition players. Don't have him doing any tracking, just have him as high and wide as possible, with any early balls fed into the channel for him to chase [and win]. He'd create gaps and give the midfield and defence another ten yards breathing space.

He's 19 and has played approx 110 minutes of top flight league football in career. It's not really surprising he's nowhere near the finished article.

Blimey, players don't half get written off quickly these days.

Might have a look at the list of Academy players and select one to slag off so I can be the first to say he wouldn't make it as a player.

I watched him for the U21's last night and he did actually track back a few times during the first half. Not so such in the second though. I still think he's wasted a bit out wide.

Not sure i want him tracking back.

Just put him up the pitch to do the damage.

I saw guillet going on about hazard that he should not be wasting his energy tracking back, just let him do what hes good at.
I know he aint messi or ronaldo who dont track back neither but we are hopeless at the moment and id prefer him to just hurt the opposition with his pace , energy and flair.
He could be our zaha.

I think it might be worth playing him more centrally too. He can play very direct then—his pace and trickery might even win a few penalties with clumsy, misjudged challenges from panicking defenders. When played out wide, he doesn't seem to get near the penalty area much.

Gill has offered little out wide - so agree that a go in the centre might be worthwhile.

I know it is a bit odd how Adama has already been judged and decided upon. I think he's got a load of talent and with some refining he could be a belting player.

My twopennorth.  I love him. I think he is a shining light amid the circling gloom. I would play him centre forward.

I would too Brian. He would scare the life out of centre backs and is unpredictable enough to hurt teams.

I can just see him picking up the ball on the front edge of the centre circle and going for goal. None if this triangular fannying about and taking ten passes to advance five yards. When Dwight came he got a similar reception. Used to do a fair impression of Tonev in the early days and the only time we got to see him was with a fork in his hand at half time.  We knew what came next with Dwight long before the club did. I feel the same about Adama.

He's certainly got the frame for playing up front.
