I guarantee that Traore will not play against WBA and possibly Blues as well. I doubt if we shall see Gil on Saturday either. No word re Gueye does not bode well unless Sherwood is trying to play mind games.

Yep we'll be a much different prospect with him in the team...my only concern is that he will spend more time out injured than on the pitch. Some of those challenges against Notts County were disgraceful and he really needs protection from the match officials.

From what I understand, the impact injuries cleared up some time ago, it was the turning of the ankle which is keeping him out.  He doesn't have a history of injuries and certainly doesn't look particularly fragile, so I wouldn't be overly concerned just yet.

I thought when we'd seen the back of Vlaar we'd see some sort of end to these injuries. Traore is only a youngster, just get yourself fit for fucks sake... and Gil, not much older but can't manage a couple of games because something isn't right.  It's like my wife's car, there's something up with it virtually every week.  I'm annoyed as I've just had to fork out 80 odd quid for two tyres which I'd replaced only a month ago, both punctured with screws.

The turned ankle is what concern is and was a direct result of those challenges. I've turned ankles myself and they are a bastard to heal...your ankle is never as strong again once you've gone over on it (depending on the severity of the turn and if any ligaments were stretched).

Too true I've been struggling with a twisted ankle for 6 weeks now. But I am a fat, old, unfit person!

At least we know where Grant Holt is now.

Mind games?  Who with?
It's probably only us internet monkeys that agonise over such matters.

That really does depend, I mangled my ankles (and knees) badly as a triple jumper when I was a teenager but once I stopped I had no issues with them and played football and rugby for 8-9 years (rugby saturday and football on Sunday) without any problems.  It's all down to being rushed back, if you rest and let it heal there's no long term effects.  The issue is that many people stop feeling the pain and assume that it's fully recovered, which just isn't true, that's the point where you start doing targeted exercises to strength the joint rather than going back into normal training. That's probably why he isn't training (and no doubt will be immensely frustrating for him).  for a genuine twisted ankle you're looking at about 4 weeks for proper recovery so he's probably very close.

He had some kind of protective boot on after his injury and it was only removed last Friday. God knows how long it takes to recover from that. Can't be that far away, surely?

In light training, but this game is probably too early apparently.

They are going to look at him in training today to see if he has a chance for tomorrow.

he only needs a few minutes to make an impact in a game, so would be great just to have him on the bench for tomorrow.
