What I reckon they want to do is to introduce him to the packed stadium on Friday night
before the match starts to get the crowd going.

We could be left with egg planted on our faces if it falls through and he doesn't appear.

I still don't accept it could be true - Traore at Villa Park.

Subtle.

Subtle.

I've read it about a dozen times, and I know, *know*, there's a pun there, I just can't see it.

I feel defeated.

Why would Barcelona let go of such a good player????
Makes no sense.

Because they have one or two half-decent players anyway, and because, under Spanish rules, all players have a release clause. If you meet it, there's nothing they can do.

Players over there have to have a release clause in their contract and to our benefit, his makes good value. The Barcelona B side got relegated last season too and he doesn't want to drop down a division.

Because Barcelona want 5 star quality players and it is difficult for young players to reach 5 stars standard without much match experience.

I learned that the other day, I had no idea it was the case.

I read somewhere that Barcelona basically just stick all their players (other than the superstars) in predefined bands for release clauses and move them up or down as needed when they renegotiate contracts.

So Traore has probably just been dumped in a 6m euro category with a bunch of other players.
