It's almost like Tim has used his Brain, surrounded himself with people who have really sound knowledge of the game, good scouts and then trusted then to get the right players. Itv is like he really does have a plan. Such a refreshing change. Please let this one come off.

Over the weekend Sherwood was saying that he has a mate from Spurs that not only knows everything about every player but more importantly what players Sherwood likes. The scouts tell him the names of the players and he'll tell them if Sherwood will want them or not.

Not sure who his mate is but he must be working for us. Anybody know who he is?

Sherwood has suggested that Gil's best position might be as the elusive, mysterious number 10.

In who hole you say?

Imagine Grealish Gil and Traore as the 3 behind Gestede with Veretout and Gueye holding. We would be ace to watch.  Sinclair, Gabby and Ayew all in the mix on the bench. Mid table might even be achievable.

it would be great to watch indeed!  However, at our most expensive summer signing, I think Ayew is a destined starter for a bit.

And Gil hasn't done enough for me to warrant a starting place at all.  Sinclair was great again on Saturday.

In fairness Ayew may well be better at the pinnacle of that than Gestede. Nice to have options and not just expect Gabby Weimann and Benteke.

I know. He said the same about grealish. Gabby and Ayew are both best through the middle, as are gestede, Kozak and - if he signs - adebayor. Veretout played most of last season in the no 10

Some v different types of players there but at most you can play three of them centrally. At most.

Catalan newspaper 'Sport' saying that Adama Taore "could fly to England in a matter of hours" to sign for the Villa. They report that the fee is Approx 12 mil euros, with no buy back clause. Good, if true, but the operative word here is "might "...........Godzilla!

I will cry if true. He looks a fucking amazing player.

Please be true.

AS reporting it...

Which translates as

Adama Traoré, who plays for Barcelona B, will play next season in the Premier League. Despite the interest from Liverpool and Stoke City, the squad has finally opted for Aston Villa. Adama, 19, signed for three seasons with another option.

The Spanish player of Malian descent is one of the pearls of the current blaugrana quarry. However, unlike Munir or Sandro, the end has not been called to make the preseason with the first team, why the player has decided to look for another club site in minutes you can enjoy the highest level.

Adama pass medical examination this Tuesday to stamp his contract with the villains. Villa Park will be challenged to demonstrate what their true level.

That translation takes me back to many happy a day trying to decipher Chinglish messages (Chinese English) in Shanghai

Seamus Brady. He's the only one listed as joining us from Spurs.

Swap one of Gil or Grealish with Sinclair and we'd be in business.

        Veretout              Gueye

Traore       Gil / Grealish    Sinclair

                   Gestede

that's a bit defensive. I was thinking more

                                   Guzan

                         Richards        Clarke

                                   Gueye

Traore     Gil    Vertout    Praet     Grealish     Sinclair

                                   Gestede

no room for overlapping full backs :-)
