Bournemouth better first half. They had 2-3 decent chances.  First impressions of Amavi and Gueye decent, Richards good, not seen anything from Veretout or Ayew yet.

We look like a team of new players, no cohesion what so ever, get Veretout on the set pieces ffs, atleast were still level but pretty shit so far.

Bournemouth have been the better side in the first half. We don't look very cohesive yet.

Fucking Hell, I'd take a draw.

Why isn't Veretout taking free kicks and corners?  I thought he was a dead-ball specialist?

i think we have been pretty awful, no shot on target, giving the ball away and they have had 3 decent chances.

I'm not going to judge the new guys too harshly, think overall they've done OK. Would like to see Veretout move more centrally, someone to link to the attack basically.

Why is Westwood taking corners?  Hasn't there been more than enough evidence over the last 3 years that he's shit at them?

Gonna add to the chorus of voices saying we look like a team of strangers, which is more or less what we are.

I think we're missing a Gil/Grealish in behind the forwards

On the down side: that was pretty shit, I get the feeling we might have another season of not scoring many goals.

On the positive side: Veretout has seen plenty of the ball, Richards looks good.

Only the first game of the season, mind.

Anyone else's feed go to the Everton match for the end of their first half? They were getting very loudly booed off.

We looked ok. Clean sheet so far, not bad, would like to see Rudy on for Gabby though or move him out wide because he looks totally off the pace up there. Bournemouth would have played that exact same first half with lots of effort and bluster against any team in the league, so to keep them out is a good start.

All that fucking floated rubbish he does. An absolute waste of set pieces.

Very poor. It's clear it'll take a lot of time for players to settle. No one has really played well. Idrissa has been okay. Guzan has done well, and a good save at the end of the half. But no one else looks like they've turned up ready.
Ayew looks completely lost, but in fairness to him he prefers playing through the middle, and if not there, the left. So he's looked bewildered on the right and has given the ball away every time he's had it (which is about 4-5 times probably).
