I have the great pleasure of kicking this off.
Aston Villa:
1 Guzan
7 Bacuna
4 Richards
6 Clark
23 Amavi
17 Veretout
8 Gueye
15 Westwood
9 Sinclair
19 J.Ayew
11 Agbonlahor
Subs:
2 Baker
12 Cole
18 Richardson
21 Hutton
24 Sánchez
31 Bunn
39 Gestede
Gabby in. How the hell?
Anyway, CMON VILLA!!!!!!!!
-
Why no Kozak in the squad ?
-
Looking forward to seeing the new players in action.
Gabby? Why?
-
I was wrong about the likely line up and I'm happy about that team and presumably 433 (assuming the players are genuinely ready)
Harsh on Kozak but he looked way off v forest and I'd pick gestede over him as an impact sub
-
We go again
-
Come on Villa!
-
Gabby indeed. What's the point? Oh well, let's hope he has his annual good game today.
-
Gabby better show up.
Pretty disappointed in no Kozak though
-
Kozak not even on the bench !!
-
"Jordan, Jordan, Jordan, give us three waves"
-
Gabby holds the ball up better up to than Kozak. Almost Heskey like use of his strength I think fit the other two to pay alongside him. Kozak not involved is a big sign another forward is on the way.
-
Maybe Kozak's picked up a knock seeing as he's not even in the squad? Gestede excepted, it's a pretty uninspiring bench.
Just have to batter them with our first team.
-
Bacuna right back. Gabby up top. Interesting, is kozac injured
-
I think Gil or Grealish will take Gabbys place more often than not this season....unless he pulls his finger out of course.
-
There's definitely goals in that team; I'm just not sure at which end.
-
@afcbournemouth: Cherries XI to face #avfc: Boruc, Francis, Elphick, Cook, Daniels, Ritchie, Gosling, Surman, Pugh, King, Wilson.
-
I think Gil or Grealish will take Gabbys place more often than not this season....unless he pulls his finger out of course.
I think it's more likely our new number 10 replacing gabby
-
Well that front 3 certainly has pace!!
-
Maybe Kozak's picked up a knock seeing as he's not even in the squad? Gestede excepted, it's a pretty uninspiring bench.
Just have to batter them with our first team.
With Jack and Gil both out, we're a bit short of flair options to put on the bench
-
There's definitely goals in that team; I'm just not sure at which end.
Yep, but it beats knowing there are no goals in the team and knowing at which end.
Merge with Mr Sox's thread please Dave when you get a moment.
-
Let's start the season with three points come on Villa.
-
I hope Gestede gets some time on the pitch today
-
Gestede will play against Utd next Friday I reckon....isolate Blind.
I keep this team changing regularly this season....options are good.
-
Maybe Kozak has missed 18months with a serious injury and has only played a few friendlies against lower league opposition where his performances have been inconsistent. #whydopeoplealwayslookfortheworst
-
My guess on Gabby is Sherwood is that he'll play horses for courses this season. He's gone small and fast today so we are going to play it on the deck and try and get behind Bournemouth with the ability to switch it up if needed with Gestede on the bench.
I do wonder why Kozak isn't involved though?
-
I've immediately gone from being really excited about the season starting to absolutely bricking it.
-

Why are there 2 threads for this?

Did they both go up the hill to get a pail of water?
-

That is most probably it.
-
Kozak is not Van Basten, mates.
Come on Villa!
-
Creative options a bit thin if our Francophile struggle, just an ageing Cole on the bench. Hopefully Jack and Jil are back sharpish.

-
Fuck the fuckers.
-
I just bloody love this....
-
i make that 10 changes from the cup final team!?
-
Let's hope our new players and one or two others like Sinclair and Clark feel they have something to prove. It would be good to see a real Esprit De Corps
-
UKR pipped TV in setting up a match thread by a few seconds, so have merged into that one.

You meant knowing there are goals in the team and knowing at which end I think TV!
-
UKR pipped TV in setting up a match thread by a few seconds, so have merged into that one.
As long as it wasn't Legion.
-
Ideally, Bournemouth will start OTT hammer and tongs and Villa will go 3 up within 30 minutes with counter attacking pace.
-
Looking forward to seeing the new players in action.
Gabby? Why?
Experience. He's got some.
-
Bunn ahead of Steer in the pecking order.

I was referring to our profligacy in front of goal last season Richard, where we knew for the best part of a season there wasn't a goal coming from our forwards however long we played.
-
Nunn ahead of Steer in the pecking order.
Let's hope this doesn't become a habit.
-
i make that 10 changes from the cup final team!?
[/quote[i make that 10 changes from the cup final team!?
9? Bacuna and Westwood the survivors? Or did Westwood play..
-
I have no idea what the result could be today.
-
I wasn't too impressed when I saw the team but then I looked at theirs and we really should be winning this one.
-
Bacuna didn't start in the cup final. We started Hutton instead for some reason.
-
Surprised Kozak and Gil aren't even in the squad. Gil must be getting pretty pissed off.
Anyway, on a positive note as long as the new signings gel quickly, there should be enough there to get all three points.
2-1 to Villa.
-
No N'Zogbia?
Gutted.
I hope.
Looks a decent side. Surprised Bacuna in at right back but I'm guessing Sherwood is going all gung-ho today, as will Bournemouth. It will either finish 4-4 or 0-0.
-
Gil is injured isn't he?
-

Gil is injured...
-
I do wish we'd signed Callum Wilson from them though. He looks very good. I'd prefer him to Adebayor anyway.
-

Think both Gil and Grealish are injured

Ah right. Ignore that then.
-
Gil is injured isn't he?
Must be.
-
Slightly disappointed that after all the signings our front man for today is... Gabby. But hey ho, chins up, let's do it.
-
Bugger got Rudy in my fantasy team
-

All the more reason to think that another forward will be coming in I suspect

Game live on TV here. Massively nervous.
I just beat you to the thread start. Sorry about that TV
-
thats an all out attacking side, too much so imo for the first game of the season. Huge vote of confidence in Gabby but Gestede will surely be coming on in the second half
We wont be keeping a clean sheet with that side but should have no problem creating chances. 2-2
--------------Guzan
Bacuna, Richards, Clark, Amavi
-------Westwood, Gueye
Ayew, -----Veretout, -----Sinclair
-------------Gabby----------
-
Well I suppose we can all live in hope Gabby has a good day. Hopefully he's fresh and fit. The only excuse he could have had last season was that he was constantly carrying niggles. I hope we get him running at the Bournemouth defenders. Same goes for Ayew and Sinclair. There's a big onus on Veretout today I feel.
-
New season, new start. Come on, Villa!
-
Come on my beautiful Aston Villa. Sat here in Tokyo wearing the new shirt. I love it. Villa, 2-1. Gabby and Westwood!
-
Here we go then, let's fuck the fuckers.
-
Well I suppose we can all live in hope Gabby has a good day.
And you can all eat humble pie like you normally do after a 'Let's slag off, Gabby' thread. He always responds by scoring. I'd have thought you'd have learned your lesson by now. Still, it takes all kinds.
-
Finally found somewhere to watch it.
Can't see us getting much today, but I hope to see the style of play emerging.
-
Here we go lads....enjoy the season.
-

No worries sir
-
Here we go, another season at the Factory of Sadness.
Come on, my Villa boys!
-
The camera height is really low
-
Horrible camera angle!
-
How we playing
-
Yeah, can't see much of the far side of the pitch.
-
Another one like that and Pugh has to go in the book
-
The camera height is really low
It's at a ground that holds 11k, just how high up did you expect???
-
How we playing
Ok, they've had the ball more but not in threatening areas. We need to get a hold of it, but not much to report. Richards looks good.
-
Micah Richards all action in the first five...may be trying too hard?
-
Richards looks massive, but not sure on good!
-
The camera height is really low

I expected them to build something above the stand with scaffolding as a temporary TV gantry. I know they didn't make changes to their ground or expand which is fine but they are likely to be on TV a few times this season so that might have been a consideration.
-
Brad's kicks aren't finding anyone.
-

I'm not going to get involved, this thread's not the place, but the bold bit, sir, is bollocks, and has been for some years.
-
Brad's kicks aren't finding anyone.
He's aiming for Benteke.
-
Not sure about this formation. Ayew and Sinclair look too wide to me. They need to be closer to Gabby.
-
Leicester winning. Need a draw in that one, don't want either getting a good start!
-
Leicester 1 up
-

I posted his league goals record for the last five years the other day.
Not much evidence of him responding by scoring with those horrific figures.
-
Watford 1 up at Everton.

Watford 1-0 up at Everton.

Jinx!
-
Leicester winning. Need a draw in that one, don't want either getting a good start!
Haha, long way to go Ozz. You do recall we were close to top or maybe we were even top for a little while last season after the first few games
-
pressing well in midfield, Bournemouth going nowhere with the ball so far. Would like to see us a bit more patient on the ball. Hitting a static Gabby too early at the moment
-
A whole lot of not a lot happening.
-
Gueye looks a really good player to me.
-
Corner!
-
I am unreasonably nervous. Seeing that starting XI didn't help. Would love a win today, up the villa!!
-
Crowded in midfield. Just need to be patient I think. Our pace up front should benefit from the game getting stretched out a bit more later.
-
How come Kozak not on the bench? Injured?
-
Amavi looks a real find.
-
I've developed a hatred for counter attack. Completely irrational I realize.
-
How come Kozak not on the bench? Injured?
We've too many good players in the squad to fit them all in.
-
Leicester 2 up now. Sunderland starting as the mean to go on with any luck.
-
Guzan ffs
-
Lets hope we can get at least one shot at goal before half time ::)
-
Leicester 2 Sunderland 0.
-
Guzan's kicking. FFS
-
My conclusion to the season is Sunderland are going down.
-
When do you reckon we'll have our shot?
62 minutes, I reckon.
-
Leicester 2 Sunderland 0.
Sunderland have to be one of the early favourite not to survive this season
-
Guzan needs too stop that passing too the full back bollocks!!
-
Guzan's kicking. FFS
It is really bloody awful.
-
When do you reckon we'll have our shot?
62 minutes, I reckon.
41 and it will go in
-
Ayew has been rather careless a few times now.
-
Strange thing is we are set up for the crosses from the full backs, then have not picked a big centre forward. I hope 60 minutes sees the arrival of Gestede on the pitch.
Bacuna still gives me the shits defensively.
-
Who's this "Ganna" the commentator keeps mentioning? Does he mean Gueye?
-
3-0 Leicester.
-
Clark and Amavi have been outstanding so far. We look rock solid defensively on the left, makes a change.
Ayew and Sinclair need to pick it up. Not offering anything
-
Who's this "Ganna" the commentator keeps mentioning? Does he mean Gueye?
Yes, he has Gana on his shirt
-
I hate Joey Barton almost as much as Robbie Savage...
-
Who's this "Ganna" the commentator keeps mentioning? Does he mean Gueye?
Was just wondering this.
Have looked it up, it's Jordan Ganna.
-
So that's how you pronounce Gueye
-
3-0 Leicester.
Christ on a bike. Sunderland must be woeful.
-
I think Ganna is his middle name.
We look ok. Decent in possession.
-
Sinclair is working really hard down that side on Ritchie with Amavi
-
With all the new faces it's easy to see some are not on the same wavelength but that will come.
We look solid so far, with all the rave talk about Bournemouth I don't think they've tested Brad at all....
-
26:57 shot on goal!
-
Lovely control by Veretout. Gueye impersonating Tonev
-
Great play vertout
-
We're not showing much cohesion up front, which is to be expected really.
-
Veretout looks like he could become a propper number 10 in time.
-
Early away games at promoted clubs are always tricky. We're doing OK, considering it's a massively revamped team.
-
Wow. A... a shot!
-
Wow we've had a shot
-
We're giving the ball away to easily and inviting pressure. Bournemouth are gaining confidence
-
Amavis struggling against Richie.
-
We're giving the ball away to easily and inviting pressure. Bournemouth are gaining confidence
I reckon that's how they'll come undone. We seem quicker than them across the pitch.
-
Amavis struggling against Richie.
Really? I thought he was defending pretty strongly.
-
come on the Villa !
UTV
The Doc
-
Bournemouth have really launched a lot of balls into the box with very little quality. They better have more than that tactic over the course of the season if they want to stay up. We've dealt with things pretty well at the back overall. Our midfield players and forwards look like they haven't played much together. No shock there.
-
Gabby is cutting a lonely figure up front, constantly surrounded by 3 defenders.
That King is on his way to getting himself sent off.
-
Gabby is cutting a lonely figure up front, constantly surrounded by 3 defenders.
That King is on his way to getting himself sent off.
He's completely isolated. I don't like the tactic at all.
-
We're not doing particularly well, but what a tedious encounter.
-

To be fair this is the first time this midfield and front 3 have been together at all, so it will take some time to click for us going forward. You can see the "stay on your feet" message may have been handed down!
-
How on earth is that not a yellow card for Gosling?
-
Bournemouth seem to be able to get plenty of players into and around the box from open play.
-
Clattenberg still shirking decisions.
-
Clatterberk is a fuckwad.
-
Has Gabby touched the ball yet?
-
Should have been one down there
-
Fuck Me what a mess. Nearly a goal for them
-
Very poor 36 minutes.
-
Richards nearly played pass off the match then... for them.
-
fuck me!! he should have buried that, come on boys!!!
-
Bloody hell, Richards!
Comedy defending returns.
-
Shocking defending, as usual.
-
Comedy defending.
-
5 times in a row we have given the ball away , unless we cut this out we are in trouble here
-
Has Gabby touched the ball yet?
Four times, according to the BBC.
-
This must be our poor half.
-
Has Gabby touched the ball yet?
Pathetic service so far. He may as well not be there.
-
Jesus we're a shambles at the back.
-
Sinclair has worked really hard helping Amavi down the left
-
I do expect more from Gabby. Every game he seems to serve up the same, identical performance. Come on Gabby.
-
we have been really poor for 15 mins
-
Sherwood's preferred tactics seem to rely on a big, strong striker. So I don't understand why he's picked Gabby there on his own. Especially as we've got Gestede and Kozak to perform that role.
-
I don;t think we've been that bad considering how underprepared we are and how up for it Bournemouth are at home. Am sure we could do with Gestede as a focal point. Richards has been good apart from the poor clearance.
-
Villa fans singing "are you Walsall in disguise?".
-
Sinclair has worked really hard helping Amavi down the left
Good tracking back, pointless in attack.
-
"You're worse than Birmingham."
"Are you Walsall in disguise."
-
Guzan good save
-
This is wank
-
Villa fans singing "are you Walsall in disguise?".
Bournemouth fans.
-
Well, this is shit. It's like we've never been away.
-
Massive opportunity. Great work Gabby. Free kick in great Bacuna territory
-
c'mon now boys!! played Gabby.
-
Fecking hell they are not afraid of a shocking tackle are they!
-
Played Gabby.
-
Balls, corner
-
And a crap corner to follow it up
-
Westwood with one of his corner specials.
-
Whys Westwood still taking corners ffs!!
-
second best this half,
-
We haven't been great or crap and maybe a part of the strategy first half was to dull some of the Bournemouth energy that they were bound to come out with. Kind of average all round
-
Right back, forward and a winger still badly required. And an upgrade on Westwood would be nice.
-
Before Westwood took that corner, I said out loud to my missus: "This won't beat the first man".
Some things never change, do they?
-
Fecking hell how stupid from Clark.
Brilliant stop Guzan.
-
Fucking hell Villa are back. ::)
-
Dreary, dreary Villa.
-
Fucking rubbish.
-
HT 0-0. We got lucky not to go in 1-0 down. An illness we carried over of late goals conceded a few times last season.
-
45 mins no shot on target.
-
Get Rudy on at halftime
-
Bournemouth better first half. They had 2-3 decent chances. First impressions of Amavi and Gueye decent, Richards good, not seen anything from Veretout or Ayew yet.
-
We look like a team of new players, no cohesion what so ever, get Veretout on the set pieces ffs, atleast were still level but pretty shit so far.
-
Bournemouth have been the better side in the first half. We don't look very cohesive yet.
-
Fucking Hell, I'd take a draw.
Why isn't Veretout taking free kicks and corners? I thought he was a dead-ball specialist?
-
0 shots on target at halftime, sounds familiar
-
i think we have been pretty awful, no shot on target, giving the ball away and they have had 3 decent chances.
-
I'm not going to judge the new guys too harshly, think overall they've done OK. Would like to see Veretout move more centrally, someone to link to the attack basically.
-
Why is Westwood taking corners? Hasn't there been more than enough evidence over the last 3 years that he's shit at them?
-
Gonna add to the chorus of voices saying we look like a team of strangers, which is more or less what we are.
I think we're missing a Gil/Grealish in behind the forwards
-
On the down side: that was pretty shit, I get the feeling we might have another season of not scoring many goals.
On the positive side: Veretout has seen plenty of the ball, Richards looks good.
Only the first game of the season, mind.
Anyone else's feed go to the Everton match for the end of their first half? They were getting very loudly booed off.
-
Pretty rotten. Still, not losing. Improve second half please.
-
We looked ok. Clean sheet so far, not bad, would like to see Rudy on for Gabby though or move him out wide because he looks totally off the pace up there. Bournemouth would have played that exact same first half with lots of effort and bluster against any team in the league, so to keep them out is a good start.
-
Why is Westwood taking corners? Hasn't there been more than enough evidence over the last 3 years that he's shit at them?
All that fucking floated rubbish he does. An absolute waste of set pieces.
-
Very poor. It's clear it'll take a lot of time for players to settle. No one has really played well. Idrissa has been okay. Guzan has done well, and a good save at the end of the half. But no one else looks like they've turned up ready.
Ayew looks completely lost, but in fairness to him he prefers playing through the middle, and if not there, the left. So he's looked bewildered on the right and has given the ball away every time he's had it (which is about 4-5 times probably).
-
It would be nice to see what else Sherwood has in his locker other than the 4-3-2-1 formation, especially when it isn't working.
-
Unless Sherwood has something up his sleeve for the second half it's looking like we have come for a draw
-
Wow, the miserable brigade are back after only 45 minutes of the season.
What the hell are your expectations man....Champions league after losing our 2 best players and battling relegation for 4-5 seasons.
-
Amavi looks decent, still no idea about the others and gabby is being gabby.
Big space between our striker and the midfield which needs filling otherwise the ball is just going to keep coming back.
-
On the down side: that was pretty shit, I get the feeling we might have another season of not scoring many goals.
On the positive side: Veretout has seen plenty of the ball, Richards looks good.
Only the first game of the season, mind.

Booing the team in the first game of the season? What bastards. Scum. Subhuman scum. Hope the media slaughter them.
-
Fucking Hell, I'd take a draw.
Why isn't Veretout taking free kicks and corners? I thought he was a dead-ball specialist?
He took a corner but passed it short to SirClive
-
Sounds very much like same ol' same ol'.
-
I thought Talksport were just Anti-Villa but looking at the comments we are poor. They said Amavi looks a very poor player? This was always going to take time to be honest so I would definitely take a draw here. Very surprised Gabby has started on his own upfront?
-
Why is Westwood taking corners? Hasn't there been more than enough evidence over the last 3 years that he's shit at them?
All that fucking floated rubbish he does. An absolute waste of set pieces.
I thought we'd see Veretout taking them. Westwood is a nice nothing footballer.
-
Sounds very much like same ol' same ol'.
Yes except even more toothless
-
Better buy another key forward watching Gabby lead the line is like waiting for a train wreck.
-
And just to top it off, we have to listen to that bitter, mumbling twat Lambert at half time. Marvellous.
-

I expect they think the ref has got it in for them, they always do, bless them. Still, I'm sure Cleverley will rescue them second half
-
Lambert putting in his 10 pence worth on Setanta.....fuck off mate
-
58% possession Bournemouth
-
Im watching the Irish coverage and fucking Lambert is on
-
It would be really nice to see us play in their half a lot more in the next 45 minutes.
-

R5 saying he has been our best player. These radio pundits know jack shit, don't listen to them.

I bet Martinez has never heard booing at half time in the first game of the season, either.
Oh, hang on .....
-
Lambert putting in his 10 pence worth on Setanta.....fuck off mate
Yes I saw that too and I agree with you. Oh he's on again. That voice really grates on me.

It's just going to be one big bukake fest all season over Eddie Howe and how marvellous he is.

I thought Talksport were just Anti-Villa but looking at the comments we are poor. They said Amavi looks a very poor player? This was always going to take time to be honest so I would definitely take a draw here. Very surprised Gabby has started on his own upfront?
R5 saying he has been our best player. These radio pundits know jack shit, don't listen to them.
It's just going to be one big bukake fest all season over Eddie Howe and how marvellous he is.
Yes, I got the impression we're in for a lot of that this season as well.
It is understandable, really, but it is going to start to grate pretty quickly.
-
Paul Lambert "Villa have been pedestrian and have given away too much possession."
You cheeky, cheeky fucking turd.
-
Nowhere showing the game. Quite pleased about that now, even though I'm knackered after wasting the best part of an hour looking for somewhere.
-
We're lucky not to be at least 2 nil down. Guzan with a couple of great saves and a shocking miss have saved our blushes.
I'm really struggling to see what we're trying to do. Asolutely no service up front, we're pushed wide and we produce nothing from it.
Hopefully we can improve second half and actually have a shot on target.
Just seen Albrighton put in 2 fantastic crosses for Leicester. We need to do the same.
-
I'm not sure what we were all expecting. Think most of us realised that with a huge change in personnel and an early start to the season we were pretty unlikely to be a really cohesive unit.
Bournemouth are full of confidence at home first game of the season, we're 0-0. Not good but not the time for wrist-slitting.
-
Im watching the Irish coverage and fucking Lambert is on
Another failed manager telling others how to do it
-
dreadful deliveries x 2 from Westwood there
mistake each from Richards and Clark could have cost us two goals earlier. Both really bad ones, Richards standing and watching the chance develop with his hands in the air was shocking. Clark trying to play offside for the second one, kind of mistake a new centre back partnership might make. Bonkers yellow card from Clark to finish the half off and Guzan has to make another save afterwards.
Last 15 mins, they were all over us and they should be at least 1 ahead. The half passed Ayew by and Im not sure what position Veretout is supposed to be playing. He seems to be far too deep to influence the game.
Wouldnt be surprised to see Gestede and even Cole come on at the break and for us to go a bit more direct second half. Bit Lambert esque from us as the half went on, unnecessary passing back and forth to the keeper good for the possession stats but not much else. We are trying to play Bournemouth on their terms, lets stick Gestede up there and play off him instead of trying to play through Bournemouth. Not sure if its just the camera angle but it seems a very tight pitch.
-
We've had enough posession but no forward line, no shot Villa again. Early days but i hope Gabby isn't a regular starter.
-
Yes it is. I'm not who the commentators are but they are utter wankers. Totally biased, totally unprofessional. They sound like two pissed up punters watching the game on Sky in the pub.
-
Bournemouth haven't exactly flown out the traps themselves. I was expecting to see a side which played flowing football but that style seems to have been replaced by a more pragmatic style of well-organised defence and a midfield which launches the ball forward. They've played their part in a dull match so far.
-
On the down side: that was pretty shit, I get the feeling we might have another season of not scoring many goals.
On the positive side: Veretout has seen plenty of the ball, Richards looks good.
Only the first game of the season, mind.
Anyone else's feed go to the Everton match for the end of their first half? They were getting very loudly booed off.
Booing the team in the first game of the season? What bastards. Scum. Subhuman scum. Hope the media slaughter them.
It's Everton, they were probably only booing the black players.
-
We need Veretout or Gueye to start driving forward in midfield. Westwood is there to pass sideways from side to side, we don't need two more midfielders not stepping up.
-
Paul Lambert "Villa have been pedestrian and have given away too much possession."
You cheeky, cheeky fucking turd.
fucking kettling black cunting pot
-
Nowhere showing the game. Quite pleased about that now, even though I'm knackered after wasting the best part of an hour looking for somewhere.
Did you try that bar in hall green
-
Paul Lambert "Villa have been pedestrian and have given away too much possession."
You cheeky, cheeky fucking turd.
Try not to let it annoy you.
If it does, just imagine looking to our bench and seeing this sight looking back at you still.

Amavi has done fine. Premier League debut against a good winger, he's showed good pace and is definitely an upgrade on what we've had before. Let's give the guys a chance to settle in.
-
I thought Amavi was one of the better performers.
-
Ayew playing excellent in the ghost position and Gabby's clearly been told to stay up and wait for Guzan's long ball, only problem is that 99% of the time it never makes it to him.
Sinclair has been the best player, shame everyone else gets themselves in the worst position possible when he has the ball.
-
Was always going to be a difficult game - a newly promoted team & their first ever game in the premiership coupled to all the changes we've made - we're only 45 minutes in, it's going to take a little longer for us to become the team we all hope we'll be.
-
I think we'll find it tough going for the first 5-6 games. Will probably take Tim a quarter of the season to find the right blend, formation and style.
I expected a really tough game today, 0-0 I'm fine with....just hoping to put something on the board today.
-
If they think Amavi is a poor player then they're imbeciles.
-

Aye he's done a top job but didn't Hull and Swansea do something similar....it's not as if it's a one off.
-
Ahhhhh that was close
-
Much better should have been 1-0 to us
-
About fucking time.
-
They've responded to Tim's rocket
-
Amavi 8)
-
Great tackle from Amavi
-
I expected a really tough game today, 0-0 I'm fine with....just hoping to put something on the board today.
I'm not, i'm expecting 3 points. These are the teams we should be beating.
-
Funny how the most miserable posters who spend all week telling us how unremittingly shit we are always expect us to win by the weekend.
-
Much better after half time
-
Funny how the most miserable posters who spend all week telling us how unremittingly shit we are always expect us to win by the weekend.
;D

2nd half much better so far

I really, really dislike the twat. He now appears to be supplementing the millions we gave him for being shit, by telling the world how shit we are. Fuck off you mumbling, nonsensical, incompetent imbecile.
-
Guzman still can't kick the fecking ball
-

You can't ignore the fact that this is Bournemouth's first home game in the top flight, to that end, it was always going to be tough, whoever they got.
You also can't ignore the last five years, either, which tell you that teams we should be beating is a meaningless phrase.
-
Rudy
-
Amavi is some fucking player, isn't he?
-
Amavi is a bit special
-
The match pretty much passed Ayew by, I thought.
-
Amavi is some fucking player, isn't he?
I know the massive importance of full backs in the modern game but I could see him slotting into midfield one day...possibly doing a Bale.
-
Amavi is some fucking player, isn't he?
I like the cut of his jib!
-
Guzman still can't kick the fecking ball
Who?
-
The match pretty much passed Ayew by, I thought.
Yep...maybe better going straight through the middle.
I see Rudy becoming a cult figure....hopefully that will start today.
-
Amavi is some fucking player, isn't he?
Different gravy.
-
Funny how the most miserable posters who spend all week telling us how unremittingly shit we are always expect us to win by the weekend.
If that is directed towards me I would love to see these posts.
-
Guzman still can't kick the fecking ball
Who?
You know, Guzzy....
-
Guzman still can't kick the fecking ball
Who?
You know, Guzzy....
I'm going to miss Wiseman.
-
Jesus Christ, Richards is fucking huge, isn't he?
It must be like having a house run into you when he comes out for those clearances.
-
Great tackle Gueye.
-
Jesus Christ, Richards is fucking huge, isn't he?
It must be like having a house run into you when he comes out for those clearances.
I just thought the same thing!
-
Lovely tackle.
-
When Amavi get's used to the levels of concentration needed in this league he's going to be absolutely quality.
-
Guzman still can't kick the fecking ball
Who?
You know, Guzzy....
Guzmy?
-

I just thought the same thing!
How big's Gestede? He's huge!
-
I can see an Amavi deep cross onto a towering, looping Gestede header on 87.
-
Jesus Christ, Richards is fucking huge, isn't he?
It must be like having a house run into you when he comes out for those clearances.
Gestede's a big lad as well, be good to see the pair of them at corners, assuming we ever learn to take one properly.
-
Lovely tackle.
Thank you. I'll put it away again now.
-
Guzman still can't kick the fecking ball
Who?
You know, Guzzy....
Guzmy?
Nooooo, you're getting confused with our keeper, Goosan
-
Coventry 2-0 up. Got a feeling they'll be back.
-
Close....we're on to them now
-
no you mean Gujon
-
Much better, unlucky Rudy.
-
Unlucky Rudy
-
Max Gradel - FIFA15 dynamite.
-
Albrightons had a good game for Leicester. Made 2 scored 1.
-
Bournemouth are very....direct, aren't they?
-
Dominating now, Gabby really exposing their left back
-
Big improvement this half, although we are more open now.
-
Max Gradel - FIFA15 dynamite.
Bacuna is in for a tough 20 minutes here
-
Fuck me he looks dangerous this new guy. Can we have a RB Amavi please?
-
Albrighton has made it 4-1 to the crisp munchers.
-
Uh-oh, Sanchez.
-
Gradel looks a player doesn't he.
Could do with someone like that down our right wing in this formation.
-
RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
-
GESTEDE!!!!!
-
ROOOOOOOODIIIIIIII!!!!!!
-
YESSSSS!!!!
-
BOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!
-
YES!
-
RUDY!!!!!!!!!
-
Yay!
-
Gooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllll
-
yessssssssssss
-
Finally stopped messing around.
-
Ruuuuuudddddddeeeeeeee!
-
Uh-oh, Sanchez.
Quick, everyone swap shirts !
-
Christian who???
-
That's a fucking sensational header
-
That's how to attack the ball in the box
-
I love you, Rudy!
-
Get in always coming according to Barton?!?!?!?! Shame he never mentioned that before.
-
Haha! I'm celebrating reading the goal on here!!! Get in Rudy! Up The Villa!
-
rudi cant fail
-
Ruuuuudy!
-
Knew rudy would score somehow.
-
We've looked a lot better since he came on. Has given us a focal point.
-
Come on! It seems the whole country are rooting for Bournemouth. Fuck em.
-
I put him in my Fantasy League team as captain this morning too.
-
Oh yes, I love you Rudy, first of many, god knows what the neighbours must think has happened I have celebrated so loudly!
-
Come on! It seems the whole country are rooting for Bournemouth. Fuck em.
This!
-
1-0 Get in.
-
They are going to come at us now. Big chance for them
-
Bloody weak freekick that Clattenburg!
-
He's got a cool name. He's got a funky haircut. He scores belting old-fashioned headers.
Fucking love him already.
-
See this out lads
-
Ruuuudy, ooh take your love to town!
-
Gotta love those floaty Westy corners
-
Get in always coming according to Barton?!?!?!?! Shame he never mentioned that before.
Thick as pig shit. He talks continuously but says nothing. The BBC seems to have a deliberate policy of employing thick yobs these days, and I thought they couldn't get any worse than savage
-
Come on, lets bang in a second on the counter.
-
I'm even more nervous now we're winning.
-
The ground he made up to get on that header, superb.
-
The Benin Bandit!
-
I'm even more nervous now we're winning.
Aren't you used to that by now being a Villa fan? I'm not!
-
Sinclair looks out on his feet. We need a couple of wide options..
As I write off comes Sinclair.
-
The Benin Bandit!
The Benin Benteke.
-
The ground he made up to get on that header, superb.
If he had not scored it, Richards was burying him and the ball.
-
I put him in my Fantasy League team as captain this morning too.
Riciculously jammy. By contrast I accidentally played my bench boost by leaving my phone unlocked in my pocket.
-
Benin McCarthy.
-
Stop giving the ball away Villa. Please!
-
From Joey Barton, "It was always coming. Keiren Westwood stood that delivery up. Gestede's movement reminds me of Andy Carroll".....
-
Finally got a signal (am 2000m up in the Pyrenees in a thunderstorm) and we score. Get the fuck in.
Don't fucking concede.
-
Valdimir Benin
-
From Joey Barton, "It was always coming. Keiren Westwood stood that delivery up. Gestede's movement reminds me of Andy Carroll".....
Joey Barton - 100% pure gas from start to finish.
-
Richardson on. In a more defensive capacity I imagine. Plus Sinclair looked a bit leggy. Worked hard helping Amavi. Gabby is going to have to get involved down the right also to help Bacuna
-
Get in always coming according to Barton?!?!?!?! Shame he never mentioned that before.
Thick as pig shit. He talks continuously but says nothing. The BBC seems to have a deliberate policy of employing thick yobs these days, and I thought they couldn't get any worse than savage
I think Barton's been pretty insightful with his analysis. Likened Westwood's corner to McAllister in his Leeds days when Joey would have only been a nipper.
-
From Joey Barton, "It was always coming. Keiren Westwood stood that delivery up. Gestede's movement reminds me of Andy Carroll".....
Strange that a goalkeeper we have never signed took a corner for us.
-
Gana's epic, great engine
-
Gosling should be off.
-
Gosling should be off.
Too right, about his 3rd bookable challenge now.
-
Benin McCarthy.
Finally, we signed him.
-
Come on, lets bang in a second on the counter.
Get in always coming according to Barton?!?!?!?! Shame he never mentioned that before.
Thick as pig shit. He talks continuously but says nothing. The BBC seems to have a deliberate policy of employing thick yobs these days, and I thought they couldn't get any worse than savage
Too busy telling everyone he was the best player in the stadium.
-
Gabby did so very well until the shot
-
Christ, Gabby. Whatever he does, being a striker isn't it.
-
Ahhh Gabby.
-
Oooh, Bournemouth have Kernighan and Ritchie playing for them. That's quite cool for an IT nerd like me.
-
Gana/gueye has been magnificent.
He looks like he has been playing in prem for years.
He is going to be a star.
Snake ? Who the fuck is he.
-
Watford 2-1 up at Everton!
-
Will we 'do a Villa' in the last minute, I wonder?
-
They've missed a lot of chances.
-
Will we 'do a Villa' in the last minute, I wonder?
Score again I hope
-
We look a different team with a real focal point upfront....he's going to be a snip at £6 million.
-
Massively impressed by Micah Richards today
-
Micah reads the game in the box really well.
-
Stop ya messin around
Aha ha
Better to think of your future
Aha ha
Time to straighten right out
Aha ha
Creatin problems in town
Aha ha
Rudi
A message to you Rudi
-
what happens when a "big club' comes sniffing though.... ;)
-
Watford 2-1 up at Everton!
2-2 now
-
Rudy was kicked then.
-
Haven't watched the game but sounds like Richards, amavi, gana, rudy have all hit the ground running?
-
We could do with taking advantage of a counter attack.
-
what happens when a "big club' comes sniffing though.... ;)
Rich...
-
I like Barton and Waddle too. They have their own strong opinions and don't just spout cliches.
Phil Neville spoke only in cliches, so much that I think his BBC column was an entry for the Turing Test - a bot that recycles banal football comment.
-
I bloody love Tony Parkes's passion.
-
Richards, Amavi and Gueye have by and large been excellent. Rudy looks a nuisance and a nightmare for a defender if you can cross the ball. A winger is a must!
-
Where did they get 5 mins from? Was there an injury?
-
Haven't watched the game but sounds like Richards, amavi, gana, rudy have all hit the ground running?
They have all done well and will only get better as they play more. Especially when Amavi overlaps more down the left and finds Rudy's head.
5 Fucking minutes added on. What is this FIFA 15?
-
5 minutes. I can't remember any stoppages.
-
5 minutes. Here we go.
-
5 minutes??? hahahaha
-
Where the fuck did five minutes comes from?
-
5 mins ffs
-
Plenty of time to get another, then.
-
what happens when a "big club' comes sniffing though.... ;)
Rich...
I was just reading the Mail's headlines
-
Daft yellow for Westwood
-
what happens when a "big club' comes sniffing though.... ;)
Rich...
I was just reading the Mail's headlines
It will give Call-Me-Franksy a way of opening his phone-in.
-
5 mins - excellent, time for a second.
Let's stamp out the negativity!
-
Stupid time-wasting.
-
what happens when a "big club' comes sniffing though.... ;)
Thats got to be a record. 20 mins into a players first game and a Villa supporter worries about whether we can hang onto him. Priceless.
-
The centre halves today have been quite superb.
-
That should be it boys.
-
Yes game over. We've won.
-
Yes!
-
Great win. Not an easy place to come today and we did really well to get the win
-
Nice one
-
Played lads
-
Fantastic performance, great win. Wasn't easy but we triumphed - more of that Villa please!!!
-
Fantastic second half. Micah Richards absolutely bossed it.
UTV!
-
GESTEDT BENIN
-
Get in. That's spoiled the Bournemouth bumfest.
-
Great result, rode our luck quite a lot. They had the ball in our box a lot today but Richards was excellent at the back. Some good debuts there.
-
Oooh, Bournemouth have Kernighan and Ritchie playing for them. That's quite cool for an IT nerd like me.
It's Kermorgant. Close enough though I suppose.
-
Good start, well done Villa
-
Whoohoo!
A great start. All players played well. Almost. But who cares, we won!
-
My thoughts on the new boys
Amavi...excellent
Richards....excellent
Gana......showing promise
Vertout....as above, needs more match time
Ayew...still no idea yet
Gestede.....goals are all we need. Great header.
-
So in the last year we've...
Won at Palace, where we never win.
Won at the new Wembley, where we never win.
Beaten a newly-promoted club away from home, which we never do.
Man U at home next.
-
Before Westwood took that corner, I said out loud to my missus: "This won't beat the first man".
Some things never change, do they?
Where did the goal come from????
-
;D
what happens when a "big club' comes sniffing though.... ;)
Thats got to be a record. 20 mins into a players first game and a Villa supporter worries about whether we can hang onto him. Priceless.
some people just don't get irony ;D
-
Also folks 20 seconds before gestede scored my son put £50 on us to win at 7-1
£400 back, burgers on him for the Utd game
