I always thought Baker would end up at like a Milwall or something. Big, big heart, throws himself about, blocks shots with his face. The fans would take to him, but overall he's pretty shite and a clanger waiting to happen, which will soon be forgotten about at 1st Division level when he blocks the next shot with his nackers.

Kozak would be a BIG surprise to me. Didn't rate what I saw of him originally. The finish tonight and his general play was very encouraging. He could be the surprise of the pack.

Feel a bit sorry for Baker, think his confidence has been knocked . I wouldn't write him off yet,
Thought Kozak was very good as was Bunn.
Midfield still looks very small and lightweight to me.

I was in with the Wolves crowd and you may be interested in their views of our lot. The people behind us spent the first half either slagging off Sako, not very popular it would seem, or criticising Afobe for not working hard enough. This huge bloke said "that big bugger they have (Kozak)
he's what we want ay he, works his bollocks off". He was right Kozak was very good. Did you lot watching it on AVTV notice it was Kozak who slid the ball through when Gabby was brought down. They also rated Amavi.  After the first 15mins when Kozak could have had a hat trick I thought we should win this at a counter. But both of their goals were Villa mistakes. The first one Sinclair and the second obviously Baker.

I was impressed with Robinson when he came on and Westwood was steady in midfield. Ayew showed briefly that he has some skill but no doubt about it for his all round game Kozak was our man of the match.

Westwood looks like he has stepped up a level.
He seems to be thinking and playing the ball the ball a lot quicker.

I wonder if Wilkins is starting to have an influence. Westwood's body shape as he received the ball suddenly seems to allow him time to make a decision and play it on. His overall technique looks a lot better.

Gueye looks like he could be a really good player, Amavi looked good too,as did Richards. Bunn played out of his skin and could be bagging the no.1 spot if that is his usual standard. Nice cameo from Ayew.

We should have won easily but didn't, but there's still plenty to be optimistic about.

I think a few of Lambert's signings would benefit from not having Lambert managing them. Anywya, tonight was better than Walsall, a similar improvement on Saturday and we might start looking something like.

Might that be Jordan Anywya?

Clark getting quite a bit of stick I hear.  Bit suprised as I thought he did well and was immense last season.  Likes a tackle as well.

I haven't given up on Libor. I'm hoping this will be his season. God knows he deserves some good fortune.

Kozak man of the match for his goals mainly, but his overall game was good. Gueye and Richards not far behind, Gueye very tidy indeed. Richards looks like he'll be our best centre back since Laursen. Amavi very promising, Clark has improved but still gets turned at times quite easily. Baker is still a walking calamity, although to be fair he only had 10 mins at the end. Bunn looked like steady hands. Westwood played quite well, Hutton and Sinclair werent bad, Bacuna was a handfull for them and Gabby started ok but fizzled out. Robinson and Ayew had a few nice touches.
Cant beleive we didnt win, we were the better side overall.

What I liked about Gueye was that when he received the ball he was facing forwards in an instant looking to start something. Only when there was nothing on did he shuffle the ball sideways or back.

Just back, a few observations..

* We still cant defend.
* Kozaks was brilliant, apart from his goals, the hold up play was bang on from him.
* Robinson did well for Kozaks second.
* Gueye seems too have the ability too make it look like he always has time on the ball.
* I love Amavi's rapid bursts, he tended too pass the ball, get it back and then look as if he was going too pass it again before skinning   the full back.
* Sinclair, brilliant at running with the ball and cutting inside, awful at everything else.
* Wolves fans celebrations in the South Bank..... Somebody tell them its a friendly.

Yes, he used the ball very well. He looks to have a good football brain. I did think Westwood had a good game tonight and is definately worth his place in the squad but if we had soneone with a bit of thrust alongside Gueye (hopefully like the latest Jordan) we could be improved dramatically in that area.

Exactly. We should see it as a compliment, along with the size of the turnout from them.

Just back in, a better performance than Saturday but the same lack of creativity in the final third, we desperately need Gil back if only to see if he is the player we are missing.

Gueye was excellent again, Westwood too. Great goal fro m Kozac but he desperately need to get stronger, you cant teach pace but he could afford to put a stone on and be more of a handful. Less said about Baker the better, Id give him a Championship loan for the season.
