He's obviously got a serious problem, however he should be grateful he didn't kill someone. The fact that he didn't shouldn't detract from my belief that he should be locked up for this...his third conviction for the same offence.

Shame it has come to this for a great player. However it just highlights how Tim ended up getting his mates around him without any professional diligence in selection process.

The illness of alcoholism has my deep sympathy.  A drunk getting into a car is a very different thing.  He has been caught doing it three times so guess for yourself how many times he has done it and got away with it.

Still masks the bigger problem of addiction in football.

From such a young age, youngsters are being told they are fabulous, nothing is too much  as far as they are concerned.
  They believe the hype and go through life receiving.  They believe they are infallible and this is what happens.

Football is now strewn with so many such  stories.  Something is definitely wrong.

the only memory I have of 'butch' lol really Wilkins was Villa fans singing No hair , Wilkins has got no hair while he took the corners .

I had always liked him as player and as a pundit and thought he spoke sense. I was impressed when I heard he was joining us but he ended up being an unmitigated disaster and when in the dug out I never saw what he was meant to offer. It not like the modern players even respected him. Mix that with the billy big bollocks of Sherwood and its clear to see we were a disaster waiting to happen.

Now I know it must have been difficult for him with addiction and I hope he gets sorted but I lost a good friend to a selfish drunk driver and its a real pet hate of mine
