How was he a charlatan? We signed him, we couldn't insure him, he got injured, he saw out his contract. Which part of that is his fault and which part is the fault of the club that signed a player we couldn't insure to a lengthy and expensive contract and also turned down 3 approaches for him from other clubs?

He may not be a charlatan but he's an utter twat all the same. I suppose you'll say that's not his fault either though.

Which of those things are his fault as you seem to think i'm making excuses for him?

You're clearly looking for a fight on this subject from all and sundry. I never said those things were his fault. I said he was a twat, whilst acknowledging you're right that he's not a charlatan. Stop being obtuse.

I've never understood the reasoning behind what has often been quite vitriolic animosity. What makes him a twat?

I think it's mainly that Bad Santa video, which is a total car crash and i'll never understand why the club thought it was a good idea to publish it.

He comes across as a really nice bloke in his media work (in my opinion).

Don't really get it either. Seems to be any player who is less than brilliant and doesn't give back his wages or insist on being tarred and feathered in the centre circle must be a twat.

I'm sure Richards would much rather have played two hundred games and been regarded as our best defender since Paul McGrath while we won trophy after trophy. It didn't happen, not sure why he's a twat because he was less than brilliant and, mostly, injured.

It was just a really bad time for the club and his big fucking smile while not playing just got under a lot of people’s skin. In truth there were many worse than him. A bunch of fucking charlatans who could actually play and didn’t have a career ending injury who took the royal piss. And I’ve said before. Why on earth wouldn’t he stay until the end of his contract? We were mugs for signing him to it. It was beyond ludicrous. But what is more ludicrous is the suggestion by some that HE should have walked away. Fuck that. I wouldn’t have.

Lescott's on another level.
I thought Richards came across pretty well, to be fair.
If his injury was as he says then there wasn't much he could do.
Lescott, on the other hand, is a complete cock

N’Zogbia wasn’t very good. I wouldn’t ever put him in the same group as Gabby and Lescott. That’s a special place.

I suppose it is me but I always suspected that there was something very odd about Micah Richards when he gave an "at home" interview while he lived in Italy before we signed him.  The view from his picture window was like a Renaissance masterpiece.  When congratulated by the interviewer he said "oh that.  I have never really noticed."
