I think he explained his career at Villa pretty well. Including the different approaches of different managers.

He said Sherwood brought him in and things started quite well. Another manager (I assume Bruce trained him in such a way that his knee injury wasn’t managed. Dean came in and decided Micah's Body wasn’t up to the task and that was where his career finished.

I can’t really see what I would blame Micah for there.

Bruce’s approach to football is probably something along the lines of Bob Mortimer’s ‘Burnley Way.’ https://mobile.twitter.com/athleticomince/status/1145680555943575553?lang=en
If Bruce had managed Mcgrath we would not have seen one of the best Villa players ever.
This confirms that we bought Rivhards with an injury that needed to be managed, unfortunately we then hired a Manager that is a thick as pig shit.

Except the barefaced lie about starting well. Big comedy Christmas gig. Panto awaits.

The few games I saw (and it was a while ago) he looked like a good player coming back from a long lay off. Positionally not amazing but quick enough decision making, speed and strength to recover.

I don’t want to overdo it because it was an awful signing, but I don’t think MR is pretending it was a success.

In the cold light of day, Richards' explanation looks plausible and heartfelt. I wish him all the best in his media career.

The first few games I saw Richards play in the 2015/2016 season he seemed quick and skilful for a centre back but tended to hold on to the ball for too long when he played it out of defence. By no means a disaster though.

He was on 5 live tonight, only said positive things about the club and was particularly positive about deano.  Also pointed out that the club blocked potential moves to spam, blunderland and an mls side, as the club believed he was a positive influence.  Knee couldn't cope with Remis training regime when he came in

There seems a bit of bollox in that interview and I’m not sure where from.
So, villa blocked moves to West Ham (signed and sealed apparently),  Sunderland and Orlando.
Yet, he ended up retiring because his knee couldn’t stand the vigour of playing?

Something smells a bit shitty.

Yup, I don’t doubt he was popular but £70k a week is a fuckload of money for a cheerleader.

I smell bullshit

RDM blocked the West Ham move so that was before the injury was stopping him playing. Dunno about the others though as haven't listened to the interview but remember the West Ham stuff.

Sunderland were in for him deadline day 2016 IIRC, when Big Sam was their manager. In hindsight we should've drove him up there but think he was still in the team at the time.

Can't remember the other two links but would guess summer after relegation as he barely played after that.

Correct answer is Remi Garde.

Again I don’t want to come out as an apologist for Micah Richards. Like I’ve said I don’t blame him at all if an offer never came in for him and he stayed and played out a contract that was offered to him. But why would he lie about clubs offering him a chance to play and we blocked his moves? Now maybe he would have failed the medicals or maybe he could have played in a limited fashion. But one thing that is absolutely true is pre Dean Smith, certainly from the relegation season to the start of last season the club was a fucking disaster. It’s truly a miracle how fast it has turned around.
