The only time Richards and Okore should be paired up together ever again is as two halves of a pantomime horse. Awful player.

I think you'll find Gestede has that position nailed down.

It's the one position we have plenty of competition for.

He and Richards should never play for us again. One thing I like about Tony is he seems pro-active and won't just bugger off into obscurity like Randy and just accept things are going okay because we're scraping on by with the dross. At least he's not been reluctant to back RDM so far.

I know it's not always good to try and integrate so many players together in one go, and we look at the midfield and attack and feel like it's a way off, but the defence is our biggest issue for me. Amavi, Baker and Elphick are the only players I'd be happy with, and Baker largely as a back up. We're need Chester in, and then a couple of full-backs. Bare minimum.

We definitely need fullbacks, I thought Hutton and Cissokho would be fine at this level but I got it wrong on the evidence thus far. I don't rate Amavi as a left back (think he might make a left winger) either.

Thing is though any defence will struggle with such a weak midfield, they get no protection at all at the moment. Having a Jedinak (or similar) in midfield is as much about improving the defence as the midfield.

Titus Bramble would be a better option than either Richards or Okore at centre half, the pair of them are fucking useless.
Wilfrid Bramble and his horse would be a better option after their performances last night

Why have you posted a picture of Jordan Veretout?

There was some competition for his worst moment last night, but seeing him outpaced in a foot race by a league two journeyman has to be one of them.

That's not Veretout, that's our very own Percy.

Trying to head the ball from six inches off the ground before Okore deftly steered it into the bottom corner steals it for me.

that was good, as was the similar knee height diving header which led to their other goal

The Richards we are seeing now is not the Richards that arrived on the scene at Man City.  He is either carrying too much weight or has become too muscular.  Before he was well balanced but now looks cumbersome and slow.  At Man City it was his pace and power that got him out of trouble at times.  Without that he is nothing as his positioning is very poor.  The foul throw last night just about summed up what he has become.

Moving him to centre back last night was a mistake. He was doing ok at right back, against a fourth tier side, that is. I really want this to work but he just isn't good enough.

It would be a mutant horse. No head but 2 arses.

Huge mistake, he can't organise a defence and he's far too willing to throw himself out of position trying to win a 50/50.  Could be ok as a fullback but I think we'd be better off getting a new one and letting him go.
