And as Jimmy Cricket would say, there's more.

‘It makes it difficult because next year is the Euros,’ he said.
‘If you go to Man City and find yourself only playing ten games and someone has a really good season that player is going to play for England.
‘Things can change. He’s been unbelievable for Aston Villa. It would be great if he stays.’

This is what he said, taken from an article in the Daily Mail.

I told him I can’t comment to be honest.
‘I don’t want to say, 'Go there' and then he doesn’t play him.
‘He’ll be ringing me up afterwards.
‘It’s tough isn’t it. Every player wants to play at the highest level.
‘But if he’s going there to be a squad player, then no!

And this is what he said on his own Twitter feed (four days ago when Delph decided to stay and captain Villa):

Quote
@MicahRichards

If people actually think I had a influence on Delph not going to city your wrong! And I have nothing but great things to say about city!

And this is how a Villa fan responded to him on Twitter:

Quote
@ryan114av

@MicahRichards All you've done since joining Villa is talk to the press. Let your feet do the talking.

Of course he's got good things to say about City, he was there for 10 years. I can't see what people don't get about that.

I agree Clampy, but I think he should just shut the fuck up from now on.

We don't like our own highest-earning players cheerleading from the sidelines when our Captain leaves us and credits them with influencing his change of heart.

For the love of McGrath we do see that.

The problem i have is he keeps talking publicly about it. Just say nothing to the press. It shows a lack of respect to the Club and fans who pays you £65k a week. Can you imagine a 'The Mighty Reds YNWA' player talking like that to the press.

And If he can't shut up then the Club needs to tell him to.

Wouldn't surprise me either. Delph has form clearly.

Pantomime  comes to mind.

not to many are coming out of this with any credit.

Micah is now looking like a special agent.  some what soured his debut I feel.

Delph is a clown. I hope it goes horribly wrong for the twat, 7th November if he plays maybe Richards could tackle him and they both break each others legs. yes im bitter.

You're also a bit of an arse for writing something like that.

For fucks sake.

It's not Bentekes fault for him leaving.
It's not Micah Richards fault for him leaving.
It's not Randy Lerners fault for him leaving.

He is leaving because he decided he wants to follow the money trail and not be in a relegation fight. He told lies and deceived the club and it's fans and he alone shoulders the responsibility for it, not Richards for not saying Money City is a shithouse.

Agree except the money trail bit. I imagine he thinks he's going to play at a higher level, chumps league etc.

I'd be surprised if he's had that much of s pay rise to be honest.

Don't be like that clampy old chap, I just cant get my head round the fact that footballers are at will to treat the clubs paying them have no respect. in all honesty, after defending delph against a lot of people on here when this first started, foolishly. I now see the clubs mean zero to them, there is no loyalty, so why bother supporting something where the centre stage don't give a shit. Sorry but im really struggling with it, I don't think of you as an ARSE clampy. as im noit a keyboard warrior, atb.
