Oh yeah, and someone nicked the scarf that was meant to be on my seat!  I thought at the time it might be a bad omen...

Same happened at our last final with the pennants, when I got to my seat most of the seats around me had had them taken already

What selfish wankers would do that. This sort of thing and people standing and getting aggressive with young kids about being upset pisses me off far more than the result and performance.

Two days later, still annoyed. Absolutely NO positives to take from the game at all. As bad as anything Lambert served up

I got into my seat at about 4.45. Scarf and flag were in check

Didn't stop the bloke who arrived after me in the row infront of acusing me of nicking his scarf because his wasn't there or he'd lost his own.

On the pitch totally agree.

Off the pitch the hour before the game was stunning, Abide with me, The National Anthem, even hi ho Aston Viila, fireworks and the penalty box poster. All great and as a group of fans we turned up and were loud. We did our bit.

Then Arsenal battered us, no complaints and let's be truthful not unsurprising. When you think of the Villa squads we've had since we won it last and yet this shower of shite currently carrying the honour of the shirt somehow get us to our Holy Grail you really have got to think we're never going to win it again.

Sorry to say but, some years ago, I spoke to other supporters and they were quite content if we finished half way in the table. I remember saying to them that for a massive club like Aston Villa FC, that just wasn't good enough and, we should be challenging for honours once in a while and, not settle for mid table mediocraty and, guess what, I was shouted down!! I have never changed my mind and, our present situation is just bizarre being such a lowly team in the league for some years running. We should always demand much more from a club like ours!!

As regard the final, I have played for far too long not to realise that after 10 minutes, we were going to get thumped. How boring were we - truly, I nearly fell asleep after 15 minutes. Same as most others, I do not expect us to win every game but, there is nothing on earth to stop the players putting in a real shift at, least to give us supporters something to shout  about.

As supporters we did the club proud so, such a shame the players did not reciprocate!!

Yep, unfortunately I can agree with that.

Back at work today, luckily work mates have been good, but I'm still raw about the game and what went on at the end. I'm thinking of contacting someone at the club and reporting the dickhead who was sat in front of us as obviously I know his seat / Row number.

I've been trying to pick the most crushing comeback to knuckledraggers dizzy with delight at our capitulation, but there are so many I'm struggling to choose.
Don`t waste your time, you cannot reason with the unreasonable, have you seen some of the utter garbage they`re putting on Facebook? -  Beyond belief some of `em. Even the reasonable ones are at it, enjoy the moment small fry - then crawl back under your stone where you belong.

Spot on silhill I don't really remember them giving the ball away
The only time we got the Ball back was when we were picking it out of the back of the net.

Were you in Block 551? There was some argy bargy going on on the front row there.

From where we were sat I looked down at the lower tier late in second half and villa fans were being pulled apart by stewards . Sad end to a tragic season all round .

I was in 551. There were two Villa fans who did nothin throughout the whole game apart from stand up, gesticulate, and hurl abuse at the Arsenal fans 20 yards to our left. I did shout down to them at one point that they might be better off ignoring the Arsenal fans and supporting the team, but was told where to go. Plus an Arsenal fan about four rows in front of me, who got a slap after celebrating the first Arsenal goal.
Most people round me were really good, and the fans of both Arsenal and the Villa that I met in Leicester Square were very friendly. Unfortunately, there's always a few twats. Late kick-off doesn't help as it allows all day drinking. Threatening adults is bad enough, but to do it when children are around just beggars belief. CT and Richard E - you should definitely contact the club.....
As for my day? The support before kick-off was amazing......I remember sobbing during Abide with Me in 2000 - my first child had been born on May 5th that year (my 30th birthday), followed by my father tragically dropping dead of a hear attack in front of me on May 8th. I knew that this year would be the same, and it was. At kick-off, I still believed that we could somehow pull it out of the bag, (despite the groad I gave when I saw Walcott was playing) but I wasn't prepared for the non-event it became. In the end it was a case of sitting back and admiring Arsenal to be honest.
I expect Sherwood regrets not resting a few players against Burnley now........

Pictures on FB, cant really tell if it was Saturday or not, posted there by a nose, so it could be anything or nothing.
