Well that was piss poor. Talking to most Arsenal fans they were amazed at how useless we were.

That surprises me, as we were equally useless in the league games against them this season.  12-0 to them over the three times we have played them says it all really.

Only just back home from Wembley.  Simply outclassed in every facet of the game and to be honest, it could have easily been 4-0 at half-time.  The fans deserve credit, but the overriding feeling I had waiting at the station was one of relief - relieved that it is all over again for another season.

N'Zogbia should be amongst the first names on the "get rid" list.

He can at times look better than most of the rest of the players, but even so, he's nothing like good enough with any consistency.

That made me laugh. Gallows humour at its best.

Just got back what a truly depressing day from start to finish, I think the guy who missed the coach I was on when we left Villa Park made the best decision of the day.

The only positive I can take from today is I didn't waste hundreds of pounds on watching it. In fact I'm fucking delighted about that part. I feel for every Villa fan that went, more so for those that paid over the odds, and especially for those ripped off by c***s. In the end, we were all ripped off. We have been for years.

And we have a winner for post of the century.

I feel the same. I was offered a ticket for £300 and i thought about it. I'm so glad i kept hold of that money.

I would have taken it and enjoyed the occasion, Villa fans were brilliant. I have seen great times such as Rotterdam and Highbury, I have seen shite times like relegation, but I will always try to support my club. I will criticise when necessary but would have loved your ticket
Well said mate. credit to the fans who dug deep again today.

After today I have resigned myself to the fact we are never going to win the FA Cup in my lifetime. It's all very well goading Arsenal about how they haven't won the European Cup. That was thirty three f***ing years ago. What about the fact we don't win anything in the here and now?

Feel like throwing in the towel after today. Glad it was the last game of the season. By July I'll probably have my mojo back, ready for another 9 months of cold gruel.

At least our U-10s would have made more of an effort.

I haven't reconciled in my head what explains the rapid transition from the team that beat Liverpool, Everton and West Ham to the team finishing the season. You could see within five mins of the Southampton game they weren't at all in the right place and they haven't been since.

I'm sure tiredness and the mental challenge of staying up are big factors. But not sure that's enough.

I think I'm right that sherwood's Spurs had a good win ratio but frequently got spanked by the big boys.

I guess we won't really know till next season

It's not effort though surely. Nobody doesn't try in an FA cup final. They just completely froze and had no confidence, for whatever reason.

Look on the bright side, 10 weeks of absolutely no weekends ruined by the fucking football.

And we might get taken over (that's where the malaise really starts at this club, at the top, it permeates everywhere).

There was a moment in the second half where the ball broke to Westwood outside their box and he could have hit it first-time but he didn't. He took a touch and hung one of those depressing floated crosses towards Benteke, that he had no chance of reaching, and it looked like a policy decision rather than an individual act of lunacy.

It was some combination of physical exhaustion and mental exhaustion / seizing up. But whatever it was, it was like Liverpool were against us only worse

Not making excuses but that can happen in a massive final. As embarrassing as today was i'm judging the squad over the season and not one game. So still a massive need for improvement but definitely some good things to work on from the final third of the season
