Is one of Guzan or Given finished with us, then? Weird decision to play Steer.

The one thing for sure next week is we will go for it against Arsenal. We might lose but we won't be doing it in the manner we did vs Chelsea.

Agreed. Tactically, I don't think Sherwood knows anything else. Caution is not a word in his vocabulary.

Fun team, nice to see some youth on the bench. I wouldn't read too much into the Steer thing regarding Guzan and Given - one of them had to drop from the squad so that Jed could get a game, and they might even have just flipped a coin to see who got it. It's unimportant, really. Much more pointed is the omission of Gil - I think that has to be it for his Villa career now, sadly, and for no real reason that I can see, which is a shame.

Nevertheless, hilarious team. Should be fun.

Great to see Baker back. Still no Gil. What does the man have to do to get a game?

Baker gets through today and he's starting at Wembley. Vlaar on the right of CB is the right way to go, even if it is harsh on Okore.

My guess is Given will be back in the line up next week. Sherwood came out a few weeks back saying he rated Steer, so I'd guess it's just a case of having a look.

I guess we'll know for sure this summer where any of our keepers are going to get bombed out.

I think Jores is more a case of fitness really. He's been playing through the pain barrier for a few weeks apparently. I suspect if he's fit he'll probably get the nod next week.

Jeff Stelling just said on Sky that 'word is' Weimann and Gil are to be allowed to leave.

Fair enough with Weimann, but really harsh on Gil I think - especially if Gabby's going to be given his 27th chance to prove himself.

If N'Zogbia can play for Villa so can I, never mind Gil.

There really must be something that makes Sherwood think Gil isn't capable of developing the work-rate/mental strength necessary for him to succeed - because to me, those two attributes seem to be the only things that Grealish has which Gil hasn't shown. Otherwise, both seem to have quite similar strengths.

His mental strength seemed fine to me when he was the only player in the team making anything happen.
