Oh well, let's cross everything for the next few hours and hope nobody gets injured, eh?

If anyone is looking for tickets to today's game and can get to VP for ko, Mr Shin has two free tickets spare . They're U18 but we believe they can be upgraded.

Mr Shin is by the gates to the North Stand opposite Mr Woodhall.

Please PM Peterwithesshin if interested

I'm sure that has played a part in the team selection. Not to be sniffed at.

Strange to have Benteke, Grealish and Delph playing. Talk about tempting fate. Hopefully this will be more like a friendly as there's nothing at stake.

Strange side. Zogbia or Delph at Left back I'd imagine.
Be interesting to see how Steer copes. To be fair to Jed he'd done alright in the cups for us last season. And after some game time out on loan who knows, he might be ready to step up.

I know Zogbia has played left back before but his fitness is actually pretty terrible to be perfectly honest. He's got nothing left after 60 minutes in attacking midfield and he's now playing the position where the most stamina is probably required so I'd hazard a guess that he'll be dying on his arse before half-time. I'd be more inclined to try Delph there, but I would guess it's Zog.
Also given our fitness record with full-backs I can see why Tim doesn't want to play both Bacuna and Hutton today, in case we're left short next week.

I'd be very disappointed if it was any situation other than the manager having complete freedom to pick the team he wants.

Esp if it came to the chance of an extra 3m vs the chance of winning the FA Cup next week.

My guess it all somehow plays a part for all mangers. But the more I think about it the more I believe last weeks display has caused this. That it gives those same players a real chance to get the defeat completely out of their system and play together in what might be close to the cup final side.

To be honest i think Sherwood sees this as a chance to pick up and regain any momentum that we had but lost last week

Odd team. I'd have thought give given a chance to recover confidence? Nzogbia at LB? got a nasty feeling Tim could even consider that for the arsenal game, to exploit the fact Ramsey tucks in

I would imagine he'd be loathe to put Hutton in at left back. But honestly, even if Zogbia does okay today he will die on his arse going up and down the Wembley pitch as a full-back. It would be an enormous ask for him. We'd be asking for a mullering.

Trouble is, do we have many options right now?

The one thing for sure next week is we will go for it against Arsenal. We might lose but we won't be doing it in the manner we did vs Chelsea. I'm intrigued now to see N'Zogbia in this role. Can only assume Richardson is fucked too which is a shame.
