Why are fucking around with tradition? Take the flag that got us to the final. We don't need something new. And I hope everyone will be wearing the same socks and underwear that they had on for the Liverpool game.

It feels like corporate banter to me. I'd rather see this sort of thing.

May be a little cynical, but MOMS have been selling the same design as a t-shirt so I'm assuming the design for the flag design was not only for convenience but also for free advertising and publicity under the veil of representing Villa fans and delivering a message.

Like the one we surf every home game you mean?  ;)

No, on account of that not being what I described.

I assume because we're doing the scarves. It, or the old flag, was used at the semi but only surfed one section because of the mosaic. Not sure which flag as it didn't reach us so only saw the edge.

It was the chequered one. And your logic re the mosaic makes complete sense.

The old flag was retired because it was worn in patches. At the semi final, they just surfed one edge of it (I think about a 1/3 or a 1/4 of the original size). The Club had already said that they may use sections of the old flag to surf in other parts of the ground such as The Lower North Stand.

Although we did the mosaic, the mini flag did look a bit rubbish, especially as Liverpool did have their massive flag. From the Villa end, we couldn't see the mosaic, we saw when it happened, and I think some people had the sense to look at the big screen, but I think most of us came out of Wembley with no idea what it had said or how good it looked.

I said this right from the off, name checking Arsenal is a small time back handed compliment to them. It's like something I'd expect Small Heath to resort to. Just embarrassing.

Surely this is effectively advertising and not allowed in the crowd?

Click bait plus I'd be delighted if Arsenal did something like this mentioning the Villa - in fact I'd go out of my way to support it.

Not cynical in the slightest. They do seem to like making money over there.
