Why rightly so?

I wonder what kind of game it would have been if Benteke had put that early chance away, which he should have? That's trying to claw some comfort though, because the defending was woeful.

Vlaar is responsible for that. Criminal defending and we lose a game Inside three minutes. Given was poor too, under Longs shot and weak in claiming the first two, but Vlaar is the architect of this utter shit.

You go a goal down then you need to re-group not gift two more goals in the space of a minute. Game gone, fucked.

Why Sherwood messed with the balance at the back I have no idea. Mane turned Hutton inside out.

If we manage to stay up, then we need to spend some serious money on a couple of centre halves and a keeper.

Did he mess with the back 4 though? Richardson wasn't available.
Yup. That change was imposed on him, but I still think he was way too slow to react when it was clear we were in a mess. It's the worry many had with his appointment, and it was borne out today.

This is not writing sherwood off by any means, but if he takes the credit for good results, he should also bare some of the responsibility when results like this come along.

Off course. But you can see what not having any natural balance on left does. And even Richardson isn't the answer he's just the best of what we have left. Not sure what he could have done as it happened so fast and every goal came so quickly. But he needs to look at himself also and ask what he could have done more in preparation. I wonder how late a change Richardson was?

Had a text from a Bury fan at half term. The gist of it was that the one piece of football history that they cling on to is that they hold the biggest winning margin in a FA Cup Final, but he's going to have to treasure it for the next fortnight before it being taken from them by Arsenal...

He was offside anyway

That's what happens sometimes if you play really open. Sherwood will have us hammer some teams and get hammered by others, and to be honest I've wanted a manager like that for a few years - if you can't win the league, and you're not going down, then at least have some fun. The trouble is, thanks to their not sacking Lambert earlier, we don't really have the luxury of getting twatted every now and then. Imagine if they'd sacked him one week earlier - does anyone think we might just have got a draw at Hull? Managed that and we'd have been safe by now.

Not according to the linesman, making your point completely irrelevant.

The only positive from today is you can now get better odds for the cup final.

Everything was crap today; tactics, defence and the midfield being utterly pathetic. Credit to Southampton, they know what they're doing and do it very well.

Given has played every Cup game thus far, I would hope Tim wouldn't take that away from him now..

Not sure how his or any goalkepper's confidence will be having had 6 put past you. He has great feet but Guzan needs to play next week.

Ipswich lost 6-1 to us in 1978 just before they won the FA cup against a certain Arsenal, just trying to think positive!!

What's happened to Cissokho? He was on the bench against Citeh but not seen or heard of him since. Not saying he's the answer to our LB woes but at least he is a left back, unlike Hutton, Lowton, Bacuna and even Richardson.
