I wonder if Carles will get a game and more importantly Brad Guzan. Possibly a call up for Callum Robinson?

I'd start Gil. And I don't think you can plan on starting players and then taking them off after an hour or so, injuries to to other players can mean your subs are used early, and even if they play an hour that's an hour to get crocked. I'd definitely rest Delph, Grealish and Benteke.

I'd start Gil, and rest Grealish, Delph and CB as others have said.

Give Sinclair a start too, need to decide if we are going to sign him this summer.

It's a bit of a catch 22, If we had won today I would have said rest the entire xi and bring them back for the final to not risk injuries and suspensions.

But now I think they should all play against bottom of the table Burnley in a bid to get their confidence back before our biggest game this century.

Resting those 3 is fair enough. I don't think it would be a good idea to change the whole side.

I would be tempted to fully rotate and play everyone who has not been playing. Make it clear there are some spots up for grabs in the cup final. Someone else mentioned the team looks just tired and fatigued after so many high tempo games with huge emotion and pressure attached, maybe just time for a breather.

Still I am not Sherwood and I have faith in his judgement around these matters.

I'd certainly be resting Benteke, Delph and Grealish. Maybe give Vlaar a breather too after yesterday's horror show.

That's the spine of our team and our most important team members for the way we play rested for the Cup Final. Gil, Shanchez, Gabby and Senderos to come in. Can't make my mind up about Given/Guzan so I'll probably stick with Given.

Rest Grealish, Benteke, Delph, Cleverley, Okore. Start Guzan, Gil, Sinclair, Sanchez, Senderos who would all be playing for a chance to play in the FA Cup final.

No point in risking any sort of injury. Play the kids.

The selection for Burnley is a genuine dilemma now after the events of yesterday.  We could do with giving the recognised first team the ability to get the dire result yesterday out of their systems, but then we don't want to risk injuries or suspensions to anybody, especially Benteke, Cleverley and Delph.

I would give Carles Gil the stage next week. I'm convinced he could be a big player for us.

Guzan

Lowton | Vlaar | Baker | Cissokho

Sanchez

Bacuna | Gil | Richardson

Agbonlahor | Sinclair

That's not far off what I would go with, but I would replace Lowton and Vlaar with Hutton and Senderos.

There's a temptation to give a lot of players a rest but I wouldn't change it too much.

                     Given

Lowton Okore  Senderos  Sissohko

                    Sanchez

           Cleverley     Westwood

N'Zogbia          Gabby        Sinclair
