if we're already safe playing the likes of Given, Benteke, Vlaar, Delph, Cleverley, Grealish, Okore, Bacuna and even Richardson against a relegated side with nothing to lose that know we are in a cup final 6 days later is not a good idea.

If we don't need to play them then it's a very simple decision for me.

There are some carrying injuries I think. Definitely okore, and I suspect delph and Benteke.

If we are safe I'd definitely rest a fair few. Maybe something like

Guzan - Hutton senderos Sanchez cissokho - cleverley Westwood - nzogbia Weimann Sinclair - gabby

That's a poor side but I won't care if we're safe

Players who could probably do with a run out:

Guzan, Hutton, Senderos, Cissokho, Sanchez, Cole, Sinclair, Agbonlahor.

Would be nice to see Kozak feature at some point as well.

He's a massive Villa/Albion/Blues/Wolves/Walsall fan.

I don't believe they are allowed to play for us now this season. Pretty sure that's what I read about Bent. Presume that's why he's on holiday.

If we're safe then I'd rest a couple of key players.

I'd give young Jack a rest to avoid any chance of Ashley Barnes putting him out of the final.

I would probably start with a fairly strong side and then look to rest key players as the game goes on. Players can lose some form when they miss a match and I think today needs to be put behind us.

Nasty little niggles Benteke, Cleverley, Grealish and Delph picked up in training this Thursday. Bound to keep them out for three days or so.

I'd rest our key players, and Okore who is carrying an injury:

Guzan; Hutton, Vlaar, Senderos, Cissokho; Sanchez, Westwood, Richardson; Gil, Sinclair; Agbonlahor.

Rest Benteke, Delph, and Grealish, the first two in particular are just too vital to risk a silly injury.
