Agree with all the plaudits our midfield have been getting, but it does concern me, out of them there's only Cleverley, who looks a goal threat. As well Jack's played since he's come into the side, can't remember an occasion, when he looked like finding the net.

Delph is a threat too. But I agree othwrwise. The players in the nzogbia and grealish portions have to score more

I'm glad we've got another three points we are nearly there now.
I think we are already safe but sense we will collect 6 more points

Whilst he's creating and being an overall menace, I can wear it.

Our midfield are actually weighing in with goals now, and he is a big factor in that.

It is a long time since I have seen us dominate a game as thoroughly as we did in the first half and then how comfortably we dealt with their inevitable second half improvement.

I would also echo the comments of those grateful that we didn't go for Yam Yam Sam. When they win a game he claims credit for his selections or his tactics but when they lose it is never anything to do with him and all down to the players or officials.

Also, whenever the ball is within 30 yards of him, is rarely caught standing still.  He is always available for a pass.

What I find quite pleasing is we are sat here picking faults in a win over a top 10 side. Makes a nice change.

The only complaint about yesterday was it was obvious we were playing to West Ham's strength in Collins, who won almost everything against Benteke. It reminded me of Lambert with his General Haigh tactics, it clearly wasn't working for Benteke but we didn't try anything else and gave Collins one of the easiest days he's ever had at Villa Park. Collins was excellent yesterday but we really made it very easy for him. As we all know he's not so great when he has to defend with his feet or has players running at him.

I hope Sherwood (and his coaches) can have a look at Benteke's goals video from his first season, the Beast can score every type of goal, he's that good. Maybe Benteke needs to look at the video too as we have the players to provide the service, we just need to look at other options when it becomes obvious we're banging our head against the wall.

Collins should have been booked early on for a wreck less challenge on the beast. That would have put him on edge and made him look less afirmed at the back. He wasn't that good, just headed and hoofed lots of balls away.

They tried to vary up the crosses to be fair. Cleverly hit some really nice low ones in. I don't think Benteke was his sharp self and coupled with how well Collins played it wasn't a good day for the big man. But we did try and create in other ways and I don't think it was like Lambert who would have just whacked it long all afternoon.

Bacuna put in some poor crosses yesterday. Almost all picked by the first defender.

What you don't do to Collins is play to his strengths. We saw yesterday with the chance benteke scuffed wide how Collins is 2 yards off the pace of a decent move, equally for the goal Collins is guilty of being sucked into the near post and leaving a gaping hole for Cleverly to run into.

You're right, Collins should have been booked yesterday. For the second game running I thought the referee was poor, Song should have been in the book too and possibly that idiot that was having a go at Cleverly.

Bacuna needs to keep his hands off people in the box. That's twice now - CiŁy away and today he's got away with it.
It's better than biting people in the box? (that sounds more wrong)

But seriously you are right. i was going to post similar.

Indeed I thought the ref was poor, not as bad as Clatterburg last week but none the less very poor.
I think West Ham will equally say he was poor though whereas last week clatterburg gave 100% calls to Everton.
