I know it doesn't matter anymore and I really shouldn't be going on about it but......

we would definitely definitely definitely definitely definitely definitely definitely definitely
have been going down if Lambert was still in charge
I'm not sure we'd have crossed 30 points at this stage under Lambert to be honest. Think we'd be all but dead and buried now.
Absolutely and I thought we were too far gone, just look at the results we have had to get to be pretty much safe. When you consider how awful he was at organising and motivating the team, the fact that he left himself in sole charge of that function is pretty amazing. All credit to TS we are a completely different team now.

It used to really grind my gears having his pals on TV saying it was the bad hand he had been dealt. What do you think now McInally?
Too right, this is no where near a relegation squad and the simple pundit line was lack of cash which was obviously not true.
Don't hold your breath waiting for them to say they got it wrong though- wankers

Results wise the two wins against The Baggies set us off but beyond that it was the belief that came from those two games and then the confidence starting to grow game by game

When we win the last two games Sherwood will have won us as many points in 13 games as Lambert managed in 25.

And when you consider the state of the club when he arrived it actually feels like he has picked up more points than that even though off course mathematically he hasn't. He's taken the club from the bottom of the pit and dragged it back to point where in the end we can look back on what turn out to be a very good season. The journey has been horrendous off course.

I was really worried after Blunderland managed to win earlier but that was marvellous today.

To think, when he came in the players looked "shellshocked".

TS really does deserve an awful lot of credit for turning us around.

thought we were very poor in the second half but did just enough for the win. Need to finish the last two games strongly to set us up nicely for the cup final. We overplayed the ball a lot today in the forward areas, passing for the sake of passing. The times we went direct and committed players, we created our goal and other chances. Fair play to Collins bossing Benteke but that shouldnt really be happening. The big man still has a lot to learn about the game. Cleverley was our best today for sure.

Given 5, Bacuna 7, Okore 7, Vlaar 7, Rico 6, Westwood 7, Delph 7, Cleverley 8, Grealish 7, Nzogbia 5, Benteke 5.

Hutton 5, Gabby 4, Sanchez 5

We had some pretty rotten luck in some games aswell. I think his record is won 6 Draw 1 Lose 5.

24 goals in 14 games now, only failed to score twice. Contrast that to 8 goals in Lamberts last 14 games, failing to score 9 times.

Oh my that was a nerve tingling second half with me sitting there with head in my hand as time after time Richardson messed it up. Sublime play by Jack and what was Cleverley doing on there. Lambert would not have allowed that.
I think we are done as Hull will not get 4 points from Spurs and Unted even if we lose last two.

There is an outside chance of us finishing 12th and winning the Fa Cup in a season that for long parts felt like death by a thousand nils. What odds would have got in February of that happening?

Nzogbia 5

Thought the Zog played alright, had a few moments when he was a threat and put the effort in.

Hopefully that means I can enjoy my away trip to St Mary's next week with friends from Chichester and Andover. Think we are pretty much safe now

The midfield is just looking a lot more solid now, we're bossing teams rather than the other way round. Delph, cleverly, grealish and Westwood all looked comfortable today.

The only weak area was down our left, Richardson didn't have a bad game, but it was only really when he was being threatened or was trying to push out that we looked vulnerable to me.

Our first 1-0 win at home of the season. We've now won 10 league games - 5 at home and 5 away. Interestingly, we kept clean-sheets in all our away wins (Stoke, Liverpool, Palace and Spurs all 0-1. Sunderland 0-4) whereas today was the first time this season we had won at home and not conceded.
