Just woke up to the sun shining into the hotel bedroom. After my own personal version of Planes, Trains and Automobiles to get here and a couple of nerve calming beers with the gent that is Olaftab last night sleeping wasn't a problem. The knot of nerves in my stomach reminds of something my daughter said before trying a truly mental rollercoaster last summer.I've not got butterflies in the stomach, it's more like bats!
I've just sat here crying and I don't really know why. Had tears rolling down my face watching the footage of the cup coming back to Birmingham in 57 and realising that so many people in that video are no longer alive, including friends of mine like Alan Fisher who was Villa mad and who entrusted me with so much of his Villa memorabilia including his Norman Edwards cartoon books and a lovely old Villa tie from the 1950s which hangs above my computer.
Are we in home or away shirts today? My lads desperate to know so he can get dressed
