The roar at the end came from Sherwood urging us on. It was one of those moments where for a second or two, you'd like to be at the other end to hear it, as it was biblically loud. No idea what it sounded like on the box.

Quality day out and a wonderful performance. We're all laughing now!
I was in Club Wembley and that roar was deafening. A real hairs on the back of your neck moment.

That video exemplifies how far we have come in so short a time. Players who didn't play, even those on the fringes of the side joined in and celebrated like they played today. I loved how Sherwood when he hugged Sanchez who missed today's game through suspension and just said "you're in the final". That there's no guarantee he'll play but just that he would have been gutted to miss out and now he has a chance again.

And a word for the skipper. Not Delph, but Ron Vlaar who almost unnoticed as given way to Delph graciously and yet you saw how much it meant to him too to get to the final. He's been superb on his return and having a winners medal in his back pocket when he leaves in the summer will be a much nicer memory than the majority of those he's had while at the club. A real model pro.

In the lead-up, I kept saying, "we'll lose anyway, so what the hell," but I never believed it. I felt we were more than good enough to win, and win well. So it was kind of a surprise to go behind. We scored the second, and I said I wouldn't start to think we were there until about the 85th minute...then it came, and the nerves arrived.

I didn't know what to do at the final whistle. I bellowed, like a moose, then I shed a tear or two. I'll be a wreck if the final performance is anything like the dress rehearsal.

From bang on the halfway line, it sounded fucking phenomenal. It was a guttural roar and what sounded like every single person stamping their feet at the same time, really, as i said earlier, 40 years going to matches and I can think of very few moments like that. Hairs on the back of my neck stood up.

The fans were truly brilliant today, just brilliant. Things like that make you think of the potential at this club.

The neutral lady I sat next to who was a CW member and down with her husband and daughter for both semi finals was telling me how the atmosphere was infinitely better than that for the Arsenal - Reading semi final, and how our fans and team had basically "run things" from the start.

One other thing, I amazed myself at how incredibly calm I felt today. I never felt we were struggling, never felt like we were going to throw it away once we'd got ourselves back into it. To a degree, I usually find being at the match less stressful than watching on the television, but even taking that into account, it was really only the last 10 minutes - when i started looking at the clock - that I felt even remotely less than totally calm.

Great performance and great day. We took the game to one of the 'big' teams for a change. The movement and attacking intent Sherwood has instilled in the team is so good to see and  just shows up the paucity of ideas and tactics of the last few seasons. Let's make sure we get the league job done now.

Oh, I thought we were more than capable of throwing it away. From about 70 mins onwards.

We looked knackered.

But we deserved it.

Credit to their lot too. They take stick -rightly, at times. But there is a decency about about their fans.

All Villa fans should watch it and realise what we're capable of. Why sit there in silence with your hands in your lap when you can roar us on to victory? There's absolutely no reason why we can't do it at every game.

Wore my Champions of Europe DAVENPORTS shirt for the first time when we beat Spurs, so thought I'd wear it today. It will be my choice of attire every matchday for the rest of the season.

Totally lost my voice - epic day. Totally amazing atmosphere and a brilliant performance from the team. The Villa fans were unbelievable today - even with enough energy left over for some chanting at the Oxford services KFC queue! Cant wait to watch the highlights

Not long home.

It's been an incredible day. Emotional at the end with my lad after so many years of shite.

Been around some great people today, seen my boys deservedly beat Liverpool and just lived the dream, if only for one day.

I love this club so much. It's in the blood. Night all.

Fuck me I love football. I took my moth eaten Villa Union Jack today, put into retirement after Wembley 2000, and it worked the magic of Anderlecht and Rotterdam. A wonderful day with Chico and the Kingston Lions in Kilburn, though Monday morning may be challenging......

Good luck to Fin Feds Dad's mom. I hope today gives her strength.

And every Liverpool fan I met before and after the game was very decent ( as usual in my experience). I truly don't get why so many are down on them.
