The other big plus TV is that Jack Grealish sucks defenders out of position leaving CB much more space to work in.   The CB, Grealish, Deph winning goal combo was a slick as a penguin's dick.
spot on Brian

Lizz, I have got so many rituals I am amazed that I actually ever get to see the games.   Starts with putting my feet straight in my Villa slippers before I get out of bed and ends with not parking my car until I see another car with a V in its number plate.

That's my third trip to Wembley to see Villa, and it's 3 wins out of 3.  I'm going to the final as well.

It's funny I never said it before the game, but I really felt we could and would win. There's something about our team now.

All the best to FFD's mother.

I always felt under Lambert that we had a far better set of players than performances and results suggested. We weren't just better today, we were good. Some of the passing in tight areas was in the 'you can't compete with that' class. Top drawer from a set of players who looked like they were tapping a live hand grenade to one another a few months back.

Not quite in the nation's eye, shamefully, with the game tucked away on BT and Sky screening a meaningless league match at the same time, but even more so than against Smethwick, we took the chance to show a wider audience what Aston Villa is about. Not just the team, who were brilliant, but also the fans, who were brilliant too. Liverpool were a clear second best throughout the stadium.

The lead up to the final will no doubt see Steven Gerard's name in every match article replaced with that of Alexis Sanchez. That's OK. He's going to have to go some to better Delph's athleticism in producing the two footed dribble that sliced open Liverpool in the build up to the first goal. Or the pass, run, jink and finish for the second.

We really are at the wrong end of the table and I am drunk.

Best wishes to FFDs mom.

TS said his tactic was 2 nr 10's today , well it worked a treat, both Grealish and Nzogbia looked dangerous on the ball. We really should of run out 3 or 4-1 winners but hey I'm not complaining, superb.

Just incredible. I was in tears at the end, but can I just reiterate the earlier points regarding the Liverpool fans. Every single one I met today was polite amd friendly, and those I saw afterwards were gracious in defeat. I can't remember many better days following the Villa, apart from the pubs not serving until 12 in the city!!

Just incredible. I was in tears at the end.

Glad it wasn't just me then. If we win the Final I know I'm going to blub uncontrollably.

Go on RAWK site. Hilarious stuff. They want Benteke and will be surprised if Jack Grealish is still with Villa after the summer...

Almost home after a drink or two near Wembley, days like this and the Qfinal more than make up for the crap over the last few years

Of course they do he's one of the best strikers in the world. I'm sure they'd like Messi, Ronaldo and Aguero too, but they're all a bit beyond Liverpool.

How on earth has a train crash of a season culminated in a FA Cup Final appearance.

What a day - for many reasons - but the main one being I managed to get a ticket for my Mom - who loved every minute of the day.

And it kept her mind off her chemotherapy which starts tomorrow.

She is positive and she will beat it - but whatever happens , 5 members and 3 generations of my family have had a day together than no one can ever take away from us .

UTV - God bless x

Lovely to hear and good luck to your mum.

Ditto

Reading that has made my day.
what a day out! Hope your mum pulls through mate.
