Just got back - 3 hours after leaving the stadium! - tube to Hillingdon and M40/42 at 71 miles an hour (honest guv). What a FANTASTIC day. Dominated the game, everyone put a really good shift in, deserved winners, fantastic support, and Stevie GEEE's birthday spoiled. Regardless of how we do in the final this day will stay in the memory until I succumb to dementia in my dotage. Still absolutely buzzing!

Bet you were the bugger tailgating me on the m40!

Just got back as well

TC was my MOM. He was everywhere

The roar in the last few mins from the Villa fans was awesome.

Love the passion from the team at the end. You can see it means so much to them as well as us

All in all a fab day. Went down with my 19 year old son, couple of beers before the game, great result, great atmosphere and won £120 as well

Last 2 games, Sherwood has really proved me wrong. Superb result today considering who were were missing and their budget.

Felt before the game particularly with Sturridge out that we had a decent chance. Great to seize the day with a performance on the front foot.

Just home, what a glorious day.   Best I have seen a Villa side play in years.
When I put my head on my pillow tonight each and every image will pass through my head but for the moment daft stuff rules because I am so happy.
We met up in a poncey pub in Hampstead because my son had work to do with some television glitterati who wanted to see a footie game.   That worked out well except I disgraced myself on leaving the barman shouted at me "I hope you lose and have a thoroughly miserable afternoon" to which I replied "then you will know who came back and torched your fucking pub won't you"   Cue "your dad really is passionate about footie isn't he?" and such cute observations.   My son said "you should see him on a bad day."

Great to see ALL the lads do so well without exception and to see what is now blindingly obvious, Jack Grealish is a big game player.

Here's the Liverpool Echo's match report - http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/match-reports/aston-villa-2-1-liverpool-fc-9065707

Well I never. I expected a one sided report and instead got a balanced view that reflected the game accurately.

I loved the way that our goals were celebrated as a team, with the scorers spontaneously celebrating their goals as part of that.

Just had a quick look on RAWK.  Most of them really pissed off.
Gerrard and Rogers in particular getting pelters.

And just when you're starting to worry that they're being far to reasonable you see this.

Quote from: rawk
2 yards onside has to be given onside,. we didnt deserrve it but there you go. we just dont get those calls. ever.

and then balance is restored to the universe.

Enough about them.

Fantastic performance across the whole team.
Calm confidence from Given
Bacuna. His best defensive performance at full back and always looking to attack.
Baker flawless before injury.
Vlaar finally showing world cup form.
Okore steady after his part in their goal. Bonus points for the push on Balotelli to get him offside.
Richardson worked hard, did his job at both ends of the pitch. Redemption from the QPR game for that goal line clearance.
Cleverley. Best impersonation of Des Brenner since the man himself. Always available for a pass and the defensive foundation for all the good stuff in their half. Probably unnoticed by most of the media.
Westwood. Typically understated performance.Intelligent use of the ball, always available for a pass and another that worked his 'nads off defensively.
Delph. Captains performance. Drive, determination and no little skill.
Grealish. That was only his 3rd start? The Danish commentators went from "risk playing such an inexperienced player" to "he'll be on his way to a bigger club this summer or next" in the space of 45 minutes. They shag themselves every time he got the ball. The sort of player you'll never get tired of watching if he can keep that level up.
Disciplined performance from N'Zogbia, lacked a final ball, but did his defensive work well.
Benteke. He was Benteke. Nothing else to say.

When the arse won the cup they played every game at home before Wembley, sound familiar, one game away is so crazy to comprehend.

Being there in May is top of the priority list.

Fucking hell. What a day that was.

Sat on the halfway line in the Club Wembley seats so pretty much equidistant from both sets, and our fans were just awesome.

A couple of minutes from the end there was a roar of encouragement which was so loud it was honestly like nothing I have heard at a match in years.

A real "moment"

I saw this on the telly. The Villa fans just started jumping up and down, roaring, even though there was clearly a few minutes left. It was a rare moment of confidence and sheer will. So glad for yourself and the Villans that made it down there. Our away fans are superb.

It was truly spine tingling, just a massive roar of encouragement. Our fans had been loud throughout, but that bit was just incredible.

I was sat next to a family from Northumberland, neutrals, who kept on saying how loud our lot were and by the end were cheering as much as we were.
