Anyone seen the pic of Given celebrating with a boner?

Of his own making? Steve Lomas type effort?

Just watched the BBC highlights back. Jonathon Pearce, on the final whistle said as Westwood won the ball, it is fitting the game ends with the exceptional Westwood winning it again. He was right. Cleverley and Westwood with their continuous work allowed the ones in front to play. Thought as a midfield unit it was one of the best I have seen from Villa in a long time.

Unusual from Pearce.

I would have expected him to refer to Ash as Tim Westwood.

The useless bloater.

Fucking hell. What a day that was.

Sat on the halfway line in the Club Wembley seats so pretty much equidistant from both sets, and our fans were just awesome.

A couple of minutes from the end there was a roar of encouragement which was so loud it was honestly like nothing I have heard at a match in years.

A real "moment"

I saw this on the telly. The Villa fans just started jumping up and down, roaring, even though there was clearly a few minutes left. It was a rare moment of confidence and sheer will. So glad for yourself and the Villans that made it down there. Our away fans are superb.

I find it interesting that Westwood, who it was being reported by none other than James Nursey was about to be sold in the summer, not only returns to the fold for the cup SF but plays a blinder. Strategically a brilliant move by Sherwood and staff to counter Liverpool's midfield.

I mentioned the other day how players keep coming in due to our injury list and seamlessly fit in. Westwood today was another example.

I said it on the match thread, as good as Cleverly was, Westwood had a superb game today.  Did a lot of unseen work and very calm in possession - a brilliant display.

Indeed. For all the praise being piled on Delph, he didn't get into the match for the first 35 minutes but when he did, what a player! All three of our midfield played well today. All deserve massive praise.

The mistake for their goal seemed to spark Delph into full on, dare I say Stevie G mode, the sort of display that he used to conjure for Liverpool to drag them into and through big games. I bet Rodgers was watching the game thinking I wish we had him about 2-3 of our lads.

That's a good shout, Oz. I imagine Rodgers is more concerned tonight with updating his CV.

Personally, I felt a connection with those on the pitch that I've not felt in a long time. That at the end, fucking wow. It was as though everyone of us was of one thought, that they're so close, and we had it in our power to.pull them over the line. And we did.
As Paulie says, awesome. In its true sense.

Just got home. What a day. Reports from relatives - BT Sport pundits said we were the better team, mom, in her 90s, said Radio WM said the same. Anyone listen on R5? Assuming Alan Green commentated, did he acknowledge we were the better team? I thought Gerrard was pretty anonymous on the whole, and while I'd struggle to explain the offside rule, Liverpool didn't look remotely special to me.

Dunno but TC needs a sunbed and Guzan must be the only one who can get away with the Bruce Willis vest

You reckon they will go a Kloppin?

I must say Rodgers has had 3-4 big chances to win big games and Liverpool have fluffed the lot, and bought some really shit players last summer for a hell of a lot of money. Then to bring Glen Johnson on to save the game was bizarre!
