Cracking first half. We've been the better side. Okore has looked rusty coming back in and the goal was poor to concede. Great response though. I think we've kept Gerrard out the game. Our midfield 3 have played well.
Benteke looks menacing again. Zogbia has been lively. I absolutely love the way Grealish plays football. The lad just glides around and the ball sticks to him.
If we keep attacking Can, we'll get more joy. I'd like Grealish to keep running at him and we may well win a penalty. That is unless Rodgers takes him off.

We don't look overawed, and are giving as good as we're getting.  But...  I don't half get nervous when they come down our right.

Great first half apart from our little wobble for their goal.  Welcome back Aston Villa.  We've missed you

'Glides' is just the right word - he really does slide forward with the ball very pleasingly!

what I really wanted today and have ever wanted of a Villa side is that we always play to win and have players who work hard for the cause. Doesn't guarantee you wins but it does give you a better than even chance of getting them. Even if things don't turn out the way we all hope today it won't be because we came to stay alive. We came to win and that's all I ask and expect.

Terrible goal to concede, but our goal was excellent. We need Bacuna to up his game as he's all over the place. Come on Villa win this pleaaaaaase!

Already better than the one in 96. Jesus, you can almost touch the Final.

What a joy to see a Villa team play football, playing to win.  The last few years were like a bad dream. Come on Villa - keep it up in the 2nd half and get the win.

What a great goal. We have been the better team. Absolute class at times, I haven't seen a Villa team pass that well for donkeys years.

Fair suck of the sauce bottle, Tactics Timothy has got us playing. Lets nail the fuckers this half.

So far so good. Nasty deflection for their goal, ours was poetry in motion.

As long as we continue to believe we can win this. Liverpool and the officials aren't half as good as they'd like to think. If Delph can start dominating the midfield and get himself on those runs, we'll crush them. It's very open and can go either way but as we saw with yesterday's game, if you don't take your chances, you're dead.

Young Jack is doing well and I want to see him run at them more. They can't cope and mistakes will be made.

Saying that, I'm expecting penalties after extra time.

Jack needs to get some shots off earlier.
