Sanchez should not have had to be put in that position, the ref was letting Rose kick his way through two challenges before he was given a bit of his own medicine
The ref was awful. But it's not an excuse. You play to the whistle. It's exactly the sort of challenge Sanchez keeps on trying to make. Sometimes he's a day late and the players well past him. But if he does catch them it's probably going to be a yellow. Sadly it was his second of the game.

How many more posts are you going to make in this thread about Sanchez.  I think you have made your point.

I think Sanchez is this season's Helenius for  tom.

For every complaint about him getting caught in possession, look at the situations he receives it in.

When it happens he's usually the only one showing for a teammate in trouble with 2 opposition players trying to share his shorts.

The bigger questions are.
1. Why does he keep ending up in these positions?
and
2. How big are his bollocks to not go hiding after continually finding himself in those situations?

Ok so a few points...
1. People should get off sanchezs back. He was ok today, not great but ok. He may well have saved the three points with that foul and shaped the future of the club by keeping us up.
2. Richardson was clearly struggling against qpr and got his ass handed to him. He stood up and was counted today, so fair play.
3. Joe Cole still has something to offer. When he gets on he always seems to pick the right pass or hold on to the ball and win a free kick. He should probably be here next season, grealish will learn a lot from him.
4. I have criticised cleverley previously but sherwood has unlocked the potential in him. Sign him up now.

I'm honestly surprised any of us are left standing after this season.

We are best in the world! We have beaten Spurs! Tottingham, birthplace of giants...Alan Sugar, Phil Collins, Gary Lineker, Harry Redknapp, Terry Venables, Osvaldo Ardilles, Ricky Villa, Glenn Hoddle, Jimmy Greaves...your boys took a Hell of a beating !!

or something like that :)

I hope there's more talk today about how good Benteke was, rather than how quiet Kane was.

Saturdays are so much better when you win.

Damn right. I've got a Spurs supporter friend coming round for dinner tonight. Biggest decision now is which Villa shirt to wear this evening.

Sherwood was praising him after the game, saying "He sacrificed himself for the team"
I still think Sanchez will prove to be a good buy.

Certainly agree with 4. Cleverly has seemed to have stepped up a couple of levels since Tim was bought in.

Great result. At the present moment, would any of you swop Benteke for any other striker in the Prem. I wouldn't.

Nope.  He's scored more goals than anybody else in the league since Sherwood arrived.

To think Radio WM & Albion fans thought Brown Ideye is better than Benteke. Would they swop now?

I'd also add:
5- Guzan is number one. There's been some question to his place at the moment. Granted his form has dipped in recent games, but he was back to his best today. That catch right at the end was vintage Guzan and something he does very well, which Given isn't perhaps great at. It just took that last surge of pressure off us.
