Traditional players playing traditional shots no longer dominate games like they did 5 or 6 years ago.As an aside Trott is missing the game at Durham as he's been given paternity leave.I'm not sure, I think there's a place for Trott is you plan on him being there for 15+ overs and fill the rest of the top 5-6 with people who are just going to go for it. if he can get 40-50 at a 90-100% strike rate by just rotating the strike and letting the fireworks go off at the other end that's enough in English T20, not sure you could carry him in the IPL or internationals though but over here the game isn't at the point where 180-200 is par.

You only have to look at the calibre of signings this season with the two most destructive T20 batsmen in world cricket playing in England this summer.
