Worcester 100 all out in second innings, pleased with that as Sidebottom wasn't able to bowl.

Rikki Clarke's 100 included 7 6s and 10  4s. Hand out the crash helmets.

I see Dickie Bird is none too happy with 4 of your players wearing bibs and serving drinks over in the West Indies.

Bless him. Boycott must be apoplectic that Rashid isn't playing!

It looks like it is going to be a long hard season for the Pears judging by the Yorkshire match. To be thrashed by a team missing 7 regulars and without one of their best bowlers in the second innings ie Sidebottom in three days does not bode well

Anyone  have any idea why the Bears appeared to have declared with Sam Hain on 96. Was it they had agreed to finish at 5pm at no chance of a result ?

I think Notts have a great shot at the title this year, Yorkshire will suffer with England call-ups, and I think we over-achieved (Warwickshire) by finishing 2nd with our squad last year.

I disagree we did not overachive last year.

If the Bears attack can stay fit then it is one of the best attacks in the division. Then if Chopra, Westwood and Portfield can score runs we will be a match for anyone.

That's without even mentioning the prodigious Sam Hain.

Durham, Notts, Yorkshire and the Bears are the sides to watch.

I agree, the bears attack looks very good, you didn't see teams look comfortable for long against them in any format. I actually think there's more to come because I don't think the top order batted particularly well early in the season, a stronger start this year and I think they'll be right up there challenging for the title. From what I've seen I suspect Hain may become the star of the summer and I think he'll become the natural replacement for Bell in the England side in a couple of years.

The bowling attack I agree with you on; Woakes, Rankin and Barker are very good County bowlers, plus they are assisted by Clarke and OHD, and one of the best spinners in Jeetan Patel.

However, your post also highlights why we overachieved last season imo, those 3 batsmen all average well below 40 in FC cricket. Compare that to Notts and Yorkshire's top 3-4 batsmen and you will see we are well short in that department.

On paper Notts have an excellent batting line up and the Bears struggled for runs in the early part of last season. They still finished above Notts.

Yorkshire are a good side but will be affected by international call ups. The same could happen to Notts. The Bears are unlikely to be affected that much and could even see Trott return to the ranks.

Spearheaded by a hopefully fully fit Chris Wright who is due a return to form after two very average years.

A good day for the Bears too with Hants all out for 319. Big Boyd too career best figures of 6-75.

I bet Woakesy was pleased!
