Berg and Tomlinson have taken 3 wickets this morning and look extremely lively. Hain and Evans in both on 0.

Tomlinson bowling with four slip fielders. I thought he was a medium trundler.

Looking at those scores it suggests that it's a bowling track, both sides have had a few people get 'set' and then get out which usually points to uneven bounce or swing.

Edit - 5 lbws out of 18 wickets as well, again that's usually a sign that the ball is being a bit naughty.

Ton up for Timeh! All the Timeh's on a roll!
Up and down pitch according to the crickerati, Paul E.

Looks like a typical early season Edgbaston pitch to me. Batting in the first session is difficult but when the sun comes out and the dew goes it's easier to bat on.

That's what I mean, one of those pitches where you're never really 'in'.

and yes, i's pretty typical for Edgbaston this time of year, it's why, when there is a early tour, I like them having games there, rarely goes for 5 days but it's always exciting to watch.  A dewy pitch probably explains it well as the issue is generally around the bounce rather than movement in the air.  Durham has the same conditions (but keeps them for most of the summer).

Good fight back from the lower order. Which has been a trademark of this Warwickshire team for a few seasons now. Which is also why we didn't over achieve last season. Yes our batting can be up and down but Evans and Hain came through last season and from Clarke down the bowlers usually chip in with a fair few. coupled with a good county attack we are there on merit.

9 down with Timeh gone. That was an important innings from him. To recover from 92-5 and get close to Hampshire's score is an excellent turn around.

39 behind at halfway, that's very good given where things were this morning.  12 overs this evening, if they yield a wicket or 2 and then we can make the most of the morning pitch this could be very interesting.

Seems odd that Rankin hasn't had an over or 2 this evening, it's a bit disappointing that there hasn't been a 2nd wicket which would've put warks on top, especially when one gets edged to 3rd slip in the last over and they didn't have catchers in.
