The odds are still massively against us as long as one of Manure and Arsenal are still in the competition, but it's nice to get to the semi's and hopefully the final.

Agreed.  I tend to think whoever we get tomorrow are going to prove a tricky test at this stage.  But as long as we do ourselves justice then that is fine.

As per my dream, this is set in stone. We knock the bog eyes out, comfortably despatch Reading in the semi and get Liverpool in the final.

After a media wankathon, we ruin Gerrards and the Villa end  of Wembley chant "Happy birthday to you" as the crying, cheating wanker goes up to collect his losers medal.

Please let this happen!!

Yep

Can't see us beating Man. United, it's just the physiological thing no matter how bad they are.

Think we'd have more chance in a one off game v Liverpool or Arsenal. Remember Arsenal needed penalties to get past Wigan in the semis last year and then nearly fcuked up the final v Hull so still a question mark against their big match mentality and Liverpool have had 0-0s at home to Bolton and Blackburn in this season's competition.

Also Arsenal managed to lose at Wembley to Small Heath.

I'd rather play them than Liverpool. For starters, the Liverpool match would be preceeded by weeks of guff about "Stevie G" and his Wembley swansong, let alone any considerations of the likely result.

Like SHQ suggests, I think with Arsenal there's always the strong possibility they'll totally bottle it.

I also agree about Man United and the psychological thing. I think they could probably field a team drawn from the Coronation Street cast and still beat us without getting out of second gear.

That was five years ago to be fair.  Now that Arsenal have got that winning at Wembely feeling back then it would be hard for anyone facing them in the final.  I'd rather Liverpool than them, but not by much.

I would say that the majority of posters on this site have been of the opinion that these players, given a modicum of direction and inspiration, are capable of beating any team on their day. There are now only two days as far as the FA Cup is concerned.

It will depend on any punishment the FA give us after yesterday. I still don't think us being kicked out or the game being replayed behind closed doors can be ruled out. Judging by some of the bizarre decisions they make, plus the media will likely put pressure on them to throw the book at us, who knows?

I think I'm entering a parallel universe.

There is more chance of Ellis buying out Lerner than the game being replayed.

Indeed.

Absolute nonsense. I can't believe anyone really believes that?

I'm not saying I think it should happen.  My worry is that the press have clearly decided that we were totally to blame and also ignoring what the Albion fans were up to that they might put concerted pressure on the FA to either boot us out or replay the game.

I wouldn't worry my pretty little head if I were you.

We've had no problem beating them in Finals/Semi-Finals before.

Whoever we get in the draw we've got a chance but I know I'd much prefer that chance against Bradford/Reading (or Blackburn)! I dreamt last night we got Liverpool in the semi, read into that what you will...

If Villa do draw Liverpool, I suggest that all mention of their captain be banned from this site until the Match Thread starts

I said this when we got them in the semi of the league cup.

Lets hope we have progressed from that shambles , which I'm sure we have.

did I read correctly that Sherwood is letting petrov lead the team out for the semi? Two things, do teams get lead out for a semi-final other than the usual player line-up? Second, I can't think of anything more saccharin induced stomach churning, trying to pluck away at villa heart strings than this. Why not just stick tubes into him, shave his hair off again, wheel him onto the ground and  release a 'This Is For Stan' semi-final song?

Please don't Villa.
