The odds are still massively against us as long as one of Manure and Arsenal are still in the competition, but it's nice to get to the semi's and hopefully the final.
Quote from: cheltenhamlion on March 08, 2015, 04:05:42 PMAs per my dream, this is set in stone. We knock the bog eyes out, comfortably despatch Reading in the semi and get Liverpool in the final. After a media wankathon, we ruin Gerrards and the Villa end of Wembley chant "Happy birthday to you" as the crying, cheating wanker goes up to collect his losers medal. Please let this happen!!

Also Arsenal managed to lose at Wembley to Small Heath.I'd rather play them than Liverpool. For starters, the Liverpool match would be preceeded by weeks of guff about "Stevie G" and his Wembley swansong, let alone any considerations of the likely result.Like SHQ suggests, I think with Arsenal there's always the strong possibility they'll totally bottle it.I also agree about Man United and the psychological thing. I think they could probably field a team drawn from the Coronation Street cast and still beat us without getting out of second gear.

I still don't think us being kicked out or the game being replayed behind closed doors can be ruled out. Judging by some of the bizarre decisions they make, plus the media will likely put pressure on them to throw the book at us, who knows?I think I'm entering a parallel universe. There is more chance of Ellis buying out Lerner than the game being replayed.Indeed.Absolute nonsense. I can't believe anyone really believes that?

I can't believe anyone really believes that?I'm not saying I think it should happen. My worry is that the press have clearly decided that we were totally to blame and also ignoring what the Albion fans were up to that they might put concerted pressure on the FA to either boot us out or replay the game.
Can't see us beating Man. United, it's just the physiological thing no matter how bad they are.Think we'd have more chance in a one off game v Liverpool or Arsenal. Remember Arsenal needed penalties to get past Wigan in the semis last year and then nearly fcuked up the final v Hull so still a question mark against their big match mentality and Liverpool have had 0-0s at home to Bolton and Blackburn in this season's competition.
I would say that the majority of posters on this site have been of the opinion that these players, given a modicum of direction and inspiration, are capable of beating any team on their day. There are now only two days as far as the FA Cup is concerned.
Whoever we get in the draw we've got a chance but I know I'd much prefer that chance against Bradford/Reading (or Blackburn)! I dreamt last night we got Liverpool in the semi, read into that what you will...
