If they were bright they wouldn't be paying for that shower.

But then they'd smell.

Damn predictive keyboard!

I realise we are a big club and Warrington are very small but compare and contrast the coverage of our match with this:-

The trip was quite funny I must admit. But the deliberate body checking was the actions of a prick. And just omagine what would have happened if someone had landed one on him, which he fully deserved.

And almost certainly what he wanted.

Why has he stopped leaving the pitch to start trying to fight with any fan that runs past?!

That video should be sent to the FA.

Maybe Sherwood should take this approach to pitch invaders.

If I hear crowd trouble again.

The crowd trouble came from the away fans throwing seats.

ffs

And a few of ours chucking stuff from the Lower North into the Witton Lane.

Had a chat with one of their lot this morning, he's a long time season ticket holder and a pretty level headed type of bloke so not one to get carried away, and he said there was a fair bit of stuff being thrown at them from the Lower North. The press has blown the pitch invasion out of all proportion but let us not pretend that we don't have our own share of dickheads.

We've had evidence in abundance as to what has already happened. Does he, or anyone,  have one shred of evidence to abck his assertion up? Sorry, i know its your mate Chris.

Footage of pitch invasion at Aston Villa win over West Bromwich Albion shows James Morrison appear to trip up a supporter while Callum McManaman seems to shove fan

Thousands of Aston Villa fans staged a pitch invasion after FA Cup win
Some players reported that they were attacked during the scenes
Video seems to show two West Brom players involved in altercations
Police have charged three men with offences from the game

By Oliver Todd for MailOnline

New footage of the shameful scenes during the pitch invasion at Villa Park on Saturday appears to show two West Bromwich Albion involved in clashes with supporters entering the pitch.

Villa face a major FA inquiry, a substantial fine and the threat of a ground closure after players looked to have been assaulted as the FA Cup quarter-final at Villa Park descended into chaos with an unrestrained pitch invasion joined by thousands of Villa fans.

Scorer Fabian Delph claimed he was bitten, while Boaz Myhill, Craig Dawson, James Morrison and Callum McManaman all appeared to be barged aggressively - and the new footage shows the latter two in altercations with the on-rushing fans.

The Instagram clip shows fans running on to the pitch, with Morrison seeming to stick his leg out to trip once, while McManaman looks to barge into others.

Three men have been charged by police with offences connected to the match after officers made a total of 17 arrests inside and outside Villa Park.

More footage discovered on Monday appeared to show West Brom fans setting off fire extinguishers and throwing bins in the away end at Villa Park.

The Black Country club are working with police to identify supporters seen in the video.

We told you, says police chief after Aston Villa crowd trouble

Ian Herbert Monday 09 March 2015

English football’s top police officer has said that the ugly scenes which marred Saturday’s FA Cup quarter-final between Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion were drink-related and prove why forces want a right of veto over televised weekend night matches.

The Independent revealed last week that senior police officers were dismayed to discover that an additional 10 Friday evening matches had been added to schedules under the new £5.1bn TV deal, without being given any advance notice by the Premier League. Police believe there is no recognition of the extra demands being placed on city centre police forces.

Mark Roberts, Cheshire Police assistant chief constable and Association of Chief Police Officers football lead, has told this newspaper that Saturday’s disorder, which included Fabian Delph being bitten by a fan and seats being thrown from a stand by Albion fans, stemmed from the late kick-off, making alcohol the cause of the problem.

Roberts said that a number of early evening derbies is becoming a trend, though the Premier League has indicated that it does not expect the Friday night games from 2016-17 to be top-pick fixtures. “If you look at the quarter-final fixtures, [the BBC] could not have picked a worse one for the 5.30pm kick-off,” he said. “If you look at the pattern of which Saturday evening games have been scheduled, they were initially not contentious fixtures. But they are becoming increasingly so.

“This was an FA Cup tie but it demonstrates why we just want that dialogue with the Premier League. We don’t want to stop Friday and Saturday night football but we are looking for a mechanism where police can say a game is high risk and consideration can be given to when it is played.”

A number of fans were arrested for drunk and disorderly behaviour and three men were charged by police last night with offences connected to the match.

Local police leaders say that it would have been impossible for the West Midlands force to have prevented fans spilling onto the pitch because clubs do not wish to pay for police officers to circle the pitch, wanting to use their stewards, at far lower cost, instead.

“Police forces are paid for officers deployed in the footprint of the stadium but we can only allocate officers where they [clubs] say they want them,” Roberts said. “These are not high-risk clubs. They would not usually give us trouble. But with this sort of fixture, late on a weekend, there will be drinking. There is bound to be a highly charged situation when people have six hours’ more drinking time and it is a derby game.”

Villa issued a statement yesterday, which read: “Aston Villa, West Bromwich Albion and West Midlands Police are all working together to investigate events which took place both during and after Saturday’s FA Cup match. The club will also cooperate fully with the Football Association.”

The FA said it had contacted both clubs, described the trouble as “disturbing” and said offenders will face “appropriate punishment”.

West Bromwich midfielder Chris Brunt was yesterday charged by the FA with  verbally abusing match  officials after the game.

I have seen a couple of reports that McManaman was giving as good as he got before Dawson hoiked him off. I was disappointed that Pulis was very quick to point the blame finger at Villa without condemning his own fans for chucking seats.

Also, is the stewarding and policing of a game like this not a joint effort, with WM police and some of the stewards from Albion in use too?

Just watched the end in glorious HD and as the fans ran on McManaman actually looks
like he jumps on purpose into the path of a fan running on, he actually switched his feet to try and trip the fan up. The fan swerves to miss him and just carries on running.

If you can check it out yourself, he's the player nearest the far post when the whistle sounds. Looks like he instigated something maybe out of frustration but to be fair to the fan he just kept running to celebrate with a Villa player.

I noticed this a few days ago, it's clear as daylight and I'm surprised it wasn't picked up at the time.

Especially as McMannaman was the one complaining about being jostled.

Amazing that he was the one reporting to have been slapped. Lucky he wasn't full on battered the way he was carrying on.

He's obviously been misquoted.

What he actually said was "I deserve a good slap"

Watch the Albion player on the left. Can't work out who it is. I know another trips someone up but the bloke on the left is very confrontational.

https://instagram.com/p/z8N904x4vC/

If that would have been a fan to the player (McManaman) the press and OB would be all over it, and he'd be charged by now. Wasn't McManaman complaining that somebody kicked or pushed him or something?
In an earlier post I mentioned that a Sunday rag ran a sub-heading "MacManaman struck by Villa fan" then in the body of the report Pulis says none of his players were struck.

In that little vid MacManaman and Morrison both go out of their way to have a go at Villa fans running on the pitch...and the fans do not react aggressively. Says a lot does that!
I hope that's picked up by the FA as well as the terrible fact that hundreds of Villa ran on to the pitch causing no harm at all and celebrating a win in the FA's very own cup competition!

Just read McNulty's article...mountains/molehills.
What a twat!

And for once the article is blocked for comment, unlike his usual blogs.

Maybe he knows what he is.

Watch this clip where you can clearly see McManaman deliberately barge into 3 separate people and Morrison deliberately trips one fan over.
Surely one of them was a penalty!

He was utterly nuts and entertaining in equal measure.

I did think of this when the idiots ran on the pitch before the final whistle.
