Basically the fans running on the pitch before the final whistle were idiots and it was wrong. I don't mind after the end of the game provided it's done safely.

That's exactly what Ian Wright has just said on 606. He said he'd done it as a kid himself to hug Laurie Cunningham.

So, basically, anything that smacks of football supporters defending themselves against, and complaining about ,the sort of media slurs which we've become used to over the decades. To you, that's a persecution complex.
No, the idea that Villa are being discriminated against or treated differently to any other club is a persecution complex.  To suggest it the day after an incident like yesterday's is even worse; if we're ever going to get justified criticism it's going to be after something like that no?  As for brian's stuff, well usually I agree with him but he's off the deep end there.

Is the first point mine? I think you missed my point, It's not that the media are anti-Villa but what's the story of the FA Cup quarter-finals. Villa beat West Brom? Bradford draw with Reading? Or people on the pitch? How are you going to get interest from just the football when there were pitch invasions?

The media have blown it out of all proportions to cover a boring Saturday for them.

Anybody know where I can watch the full game? I went to the Norfolk coast this weekend and had somebody talking during the whole thing match.

I know that the post is addressed to someone else, but can you explain exactly what you thought was so bad about what happened last night?
Sure. I hate to see pissed up dickheads running on to the pitch while the game's still going on.  I hate to see pissed up dickheads running on to the pitch at the final whistle, while the players are still on the pitch, in a charged up derby game, when there clearly aren't enough stewards or police to cope with it if something went off.  I hate to see police and fans squaring up with batons being brandished.  I hate to see seats being ripped up and chucked at people.  I hate that the Villa's reputation suffers become some pissed up dickheads think it's okay.

OK, I mean you're entitled to your opinion.  I personally didn't get that impression from being at the game and saw it as more of a release of euphoria from a set of fans that have suffered a lot of disappointment over the past few seasons.  I didn't go on the pitch myself and booed the ones who went on before the final whistle, but I can somewhat understand the reaction.

What frustrates me a little bit is that those pointing the finger at the fans aren't also pointing the finger in other deserving directions such as those who scheduled the game at 5.30pm.

In my defence, I did do that earlier.  If you mean the media, then I take your point.

I notice Mike Parry at talksport has called for the game to be replayed behind closed doors

There will be a lot of villa and manure games replayed then.

I have to disagree with you on that peter.  The media cover it because it happened.  If it doesn't happen then the story is Villa win.  We've only got ourselves, or rather a minority of our fans, to blame for that.  The proportionality is a matter of personal opinion; I mean I understand why it's being downplayed on here, I get that, no-one likes to hear negative things said about our club, but that doesn't mean I agree with it.

one of my friends sons works in the upper north and was badly injured when they broke into a kiosk had to be taken to hospital for treatment . hateed the tesco bags before more than small heath now hate them even more if that was possible. SOTb

Sorry to hear that, stewards would have got a kicking too especially after the apparent incidents between them and Albion fans on Tuesday. Just not enough police, end of.
