Despite being firmly in the 'against' camp as far as pitch invasions go, I do clearly recall the BBC coverage of the League Cup semi final against Blackburn in 2010, which was also covered by the BBC. The pitch invasion that night was not roundly condemned in any shape or form. In fact, I'm certain that Alan Hansen commented about the "wonderful scenes of celebration" or something like that. The whole hype was started by those total cocks Pearce and Lawrenson. I despise them both.

That is *exactly* what I said to myself when I saw it.

Pearce commented that Sherwood's day had been completely ruined by the fans. Complete cock.

Pearce is fucking dire.  London derby, Baggies change strip, Gardner Villa fan, Olsson 7 years service to villa.  Just some of the nonsense he spouted last night. God awful twat of a man.

I think they're on about the pre final whistle ones.

In fairness to Lineker he did say that the final whistle one could be understood, but the 'early ones' are unacceptable

Wish we could play all our home games at night under the floodlights. Villa park seems to come alive at night time.

Pitch invasions with villa seem to be synonymous with the achievement of reaching Wembley.

Does anyone think the pitch invasion would still have happened had the reward for beating albion been a semi final at say the emerates

A quick word of appreciation for Shay Given. A top performance yesterday and throughout his career at Villa he has been a proper professional, never heard to moan about his lot, always reliable when called upon and I would think, a positive influence amongst the players.

For those that my have questioned his contract and the wages contained therein, I think he has served the Villa very well and I hope he keeps his place for the semi-final.
Hear hear.
I really like Shay. I think he's still a very good keeper too. We might not have the best squad, but in the goalkeeping department we're pretty well stocked with the Goose and Shay.
Given is indeed a top bloke too.

Some of the comments I've heard and read in the media about yesterday can be summed up thus: Losing their grip on reality.

I wish to add my condemnation of all the moronic behaviour which just allows the media to slight our great club without having to try too hard.
