To be fair to the Gobster he did say that football was simple.  A bit like himself.

Good result ,into the next round thats all that matters. Been following the villa since the early 60s and every single time we have reached the 6th round (6 i think) we have been drawn away. Fingers crossed for a home draw tomorrow night.

Eight times since 1960. That's 255/1.

Vlaar looked fairly solid and, lasted ninety minutes.

His partneship with Okore is key to us staying up I think.

Harsh on Clark.

It is, but Vlaar's best is better than Clark's.

Probably. But the difference between Clark's and Okore's best is less obvious. If Sherwood is one of the many coaches who ideally like having one left-footed centre-half and one right, Clark will be in.

I can't recall much of a partnership between Okore and Vlaar up to now.

Much improved second half more direct more positive! Good to see a spark! Using Benteke to our advantage rather than disadvantage! A lot less sideways passing!

Bacuna deserves more of a chance than he's had! Cissoko thought was poor never tight to his man! We deserved the win!!

Second half looked like proper football, no more of that turgid first half Lambert inspired crap hopefully. Savage is such a prat. He was banging on about Leicester needing to swop a central defender for a forward when it was 0-0 and to go for it. He then blamed Bacuna's goal on the fact they had taken the central defender off.

Yes, I noticed that as well. What a fucking idiot Savage is.

Decent performance and (are we going for 'Timbo' or 'Shezza'?) will have seen some stuff that pleased him and some stuff that didn't. I think I was as interested in a morale boosting win, especially as it was the new manager's first game, as I was a place in the quarters.

I thought I was watching a different game at one point in the second half, when the ball broke to us in front of the Trinity.
Suddenly Benteke, Weimann and a midfielder broke towards the box without holding hands, whime Hutton offered an overlap.

Astounding.

I try not to be prejudiced against him and I try not to react, but he really is a twat.

Better 2nd half but still frustrating that we seem unable to get quality balls into the box..listening to Leicester fans on the train back and they seem convinced their going down.

With good reason.  They're shit.

Given jokingly afterwards when asked if there was a noticeable difference, "yeah we scored 2 goals!"

The effort was clearly upped, tackles were got to that little bit faster, the second ball was competed not just conceded and we looked like a team that wanted it a bit more. Long may that continue.
