Very good second half. Benteke should have at least got on the score sheet today.

Refreshing to see Villa play a bit of football after all these months.

That second half was so much better than anything we have seen for ages. More passion, tracking back and most importantly moving the ball forward quicker.

Theres a real lack of quality going forward but hopefully that will improve.

No post match interview?
The impact of our new manager was immediate, positive and successful.
So far so good.

Also, how magnificent to see Peter McParland in that piece at half time.

Hope to McGrath thats the last we've seen of Lambert's backwards/sideways crap.  More clinical, more desire, more urgency - only blot was letting late goal in.  Thought - other than that - Shay was superb.  Be interesting to see if he keeps his place now.

Just goes to show what you can do with a half time team talk that involves passion and you attack with intent.  I would venture we would have lost that game with lambert still in charge.  A lot to work on but that must do wonders for the confidence levels.

You forget how seeing Villa scoring goals makes you feel so pumped-up, especially in droughts. Sinclairs squirmer digested my lunch.

Awful first half, much better in the second half.  A fine goal keeping display and a cracking goal from Bacuna.  Sinclair's goal should also help his confiderence.  We did the typical Villa thing of struggling to see out the game but think we did just about enough to deserve the win.  I too didn't think much to Benteke today.  It wasn't just the lack of service or movement around him he wasn't doing enough to make things happen either.  But job done and a win which should give the place a bit of a lift.

After the new boss had been in the dressing room at half time we came out in the second half with a much more positive attitude.

Midfielders were making runs into the box, higher tempo and we actually made more forward passes rather than sideways. Hopefully the players will gain a lot more confidence going into the league games.

I thought there were three or more candidates for man of the match, and that in itself is an improvement. Whatever was said, do it thirteen more times, please.

Also, Peter McParland was brilliant - "the trainer said, 'the way to shut them up is to score a goal'. So I scored two."
