Right, so I get why some are being a bit pissy about him calling us boring and saying some players need to take a step up but.....has he really said anything that bad? I mean really? Unfortunately, I don't think we are in a position squad/confidence wise to have an inexperienced manager learning on the job so I think he needs to go unless we beat Swansea on Saturday but let's calm down a bit. There are a lot of conspiracists attributing every comment in the media to him via "his mates" but our media is full of stupid ex pros and people clambering for their moment in the sun trying to make out they are itk.
There are a few on that pitch still fighting for him, I think a bit of luck could turn it around. He is still talking as if he thinks he will be here for a while

The board aren't.  This shit is all part of his exit strategy.

The team are boring and not playing how he wants them to.
The signings are not the signings he wanted.
The tactics in certain games had no effect on the results it was the lack of men standing up.
The players shouldn't be feeling sorry for themselves, maybe he should.
The players aren't fit enough.

He's meant to be the figure head of the whole team, not passing the buck for pretty much the whole operation so far. He's a twat, if he has anyone left in the dressing room it won't be for much longer.

I can't recall the loss of support for a manager so quick as this since I started going down in 88.

I just smiled at the thought of him having any sort of a strategy.

There are far too many of the comments to have come from nowhere, and the source with the biggest vested interest in washing the blame off Sherwood would be, well, Sherwood. It all looks very suspiciously like what Spurs fans said he did there, undermining AVB and feeding little bits to the media all the time.

Also, what he's said today and recently is in the same line - always blaming the players like it's nothing to do with him. That's the absolute first thing a manager must not do, and you always knew that things at Man United had got bad when Ferguson criticised the players in public because he'd reached the last resort. Sherwood does it instantly, just to make sure he's looking after Number One. It's really annoying.

Exactly. As annoying as it was for us when Lambert was saying "we were excellent" etc, I used to say that I wouldn't want him slating the players in public, but I hope he is tearing a strip off them in the dressing room. As you say, only criticise as a last resort. With Sherwood it seems his default setting is to publicly blame anyone but himself.

But on the other hand there are successful managers who do call the players out when they are letting their club down--mourinho for one. I don't know, maybe I'm clutching at straws but I'm hoping he is trying to get a reaction from some of them. He has made some mistakes but the players have let him down badly with individual mistakes and unforced errors as well.
It's just a pretty rank situation all round at the moment

aj2k77 has put it really well above - like you've mentioned, the automatic response is to blame someone else. It shows as well that he's not really thinking about anything. He reacts like you might react on Football Manager ("for fuck's sake Player X, what are you doing!?"), whereas Mourinho or Ferguson are always thinking about the knock-on effects of what they say. So they talk about referees, the opposition, maybe themselves and lastly, if it's really bad, the players; Sherwood, 'going with his gut' as always, just says what he feels and doesn't think about the consequences - and what he feels is basically an exculpatory whine.

Let's make this clear, Fox will be hurting at how his man is behaving. He really isn't as daft as some people make out. I can assure you he is a shrewd and ruthless fucker.

Sorry, but anybody who is going to put Tim Sherwood on a shortlist of managers of one and have to "convince him" to take the job can in no way be described as "shrewd".

He might well be ruthless, but he's shown that he is every bit as incompetent as anybody who has gone before him when it comes to picking a football manager.

I don't doubt he is looking for a reaction - either from the players or the board - but like Mourinho, it strikes me as a short term tactic which is likely to become divisive.

Ruthless? He presided over Lambert getting a contract extension and then lasting until February on the back of some daft run like 2 wins in 20. He's about as ruthless as Alan Carr.

On top of that he has appointed a former Arsenal Commercial manager as DOF. I think he is totally daft.

It's unprofessional, naive, disrepectful and completely inexperienced to make comments from a man out of his depth as a manager. It's the position he holds as manager of football club and lack of responsibility and owning up to things. It's also rather arrogant to make comments when not a major established  and experienced manager who has the right as they have achieved something and management level. The respect needs to be earned and gained as a manager and Sherwood thinks he's got a divine right. His attitude now is really poor and a more experienced manager needs to have a word in his shell like and tell him how to handle this situation. I wouldn't think he listen to many others though and he's learning on the job. Big Sam said he's Sherwood has no reference point to fall back on in these situations he also said" Tim does things his way but he doesn't know if his way is correct ... So time will tell " Thats a direct quote heard on five live when big Sam was asked about Tim the other week . I think Sherwood is not coming across as suitable management material at premier league level full stop constraints or not.
