The one thing I would hope in all of this is that whatever contract he signed (and indeed the next manager's contract too) has a performance related aspect to it.

If the board are sitting on their arses dithering about change in order to save themselves some cash in the shorrt term then they deserve the pain of a gazillion paper cuts.

Do you think anyone at the club is that sensible?  It seams no matter who is making the decisions, they always come across as half soaked.

No manager would sign. Contract like that. Why should they?

I would think that there are plenty of managers sufficient faith in their own ability that would happily take an incentivised contract.

Have you ever known one sign a contract without a termination clause? How is this any different?

See the brilliant Gregg Evans has firmly lodged himself so far up Timmy's shitter he will need an operation to be removed. Home fans should take note of the away fans backing him today apparently and we showed we can compete. He is as good a reporter as Sherwood is football manager.

By compete does he mean sit back idly against a team who are a shadow of what they were and not test them at all. How lucky we are.

I wouldn't bother with Gregg Evans' support of Sherwood. A fourth columnist if ever there was one.

I've just seen his interview on the BBC website, and the bloke is clueless.  Well done to whoever the female reporter is for asking some good direct questions about individual mistakes and fans wanting him out.  Sherwood is hopelessly out of his depth and totally deluded.

On MotD he said:
On fans after being asked  they want you to go Tim "I didn't hear anything about them shouting my name today"
On performance " I don't want my players to hide in the corner and cry ...I am there to do that. If they want any (?) inspiration they only have to look at me"

Where do we go from here?

Yeah, this week's highlight had to be Timmy! saying that if the players needed inspiration they should be looking at him!! The bloke who just this last week said he didn't even want half of them!! Oh, and he was completely oblivious to the fact that a section of the support want him sacked! Really? Are you sure?...

He did seem a lot more upbeat than in recent weeks though, so obviously the international break did him a world of good, or maybe he just doesn't give a toss anymore and his big pay-off is more or less in the bag now.

It's all part of the "I was dealt a bad hand" strategy that he'll be pushing once the inevitable happens.

Modern day Villa managers seem more concerned with image and pay offs than actually getting things right in the first place.
