Fair enough. Open question, would Messi & Ronaldo score as many goals in the PL as they have done in Spain? Not sure they would...

Didn't Ronaldo score over 40 goals one season at United?

yes in 2007/08 a paltry 42 in 49. If he was any good his record would be 1 in 1, instead it was a shit 0.85 goals per game that season.

Yes.

Ronaldo has improved. He was exceptional at Man U he is even better now.

Messi would absolutely slaughter most defences.

This is all previous anyway, but I find it ridiculous that people would turn their nose up at Moyes. You don't become heir apparent to Ferguson without being good.

And why would you attach any importance to his start in Spain when you have a long record in this league, at a club of similar stature to us, on which to base an assessment?

Moyes hasn't suddenly become a bad manager, fair play to him for giving management a go in Spain, don't see too many British managers being lined up by clubs in the major leagues throughout Europe. I've always felt he'd end up at Newcastle for some reason, although he'd be perfect for Villa.

Why, because the likes of John O'Shea and Wes Morgan are a level above what they are used to playing against?

Yeah, but they can they do it on a wet Wednesday night in Stoke?

Be lovely to swap Gestede  for Messi and Agbonlahor for Ronaldo for 3 months and see how each player gets on. Might suggest that to the club.

Sherwood wouldn't want them - neither of them are ex-Spurs bench warmers.

He wasn't though. All the managers/coaches they wanted weren't available so they turned to Moyes. He's not a bad manager but as Chris said, he's perfect for the Villa which for me is damning with faint praise.

Sherwood would only play them if he signed them. If it was Paddy Reilly's idea he'd be moaning about them being forced on to him.

Didn't they take him ahead of Mourinho, leading to the 'burst into tears' story?
