Jury deffo still out on TS.  Looking good and raising the entertainment levels in comparison to the worst manager we've had in a long while last season isn't enough.  Major flaws were apparent in quite a few of the final games.  I'm wondering if all these signings are his choices and picking Gabby is his way of saying he'll pick who he wants?  I can't think of any other reason why Gabby would be considered.

We still have too many old problems. Lack of organisation at the back. No cohesion between defence-midfield and attack (inevitably leading to punts from the back, or hopeful balls from midfield) and we don't create enough chances.
We at least show more attacking intent but as yet haven't quite found the balance to create the chances. That said, the fitter Grealish gets and the more we see of Troare and Gil, should hopefully rectify that.

I still have faith Sherwood's exuberence will see an improvement. The trouble is we need to see progress quickly to avoid slipping into the mire early (which will then by difficult to get away from). A couple more signings are still needed. And at long, long last, Gabby needs dropping. He's a big problem. He's the poster boy for 5 years of abject failure at the club. If Sherwood genuinely wants to sweep the board, then Gabby needs binning too because he's been the main representative of the club, for good and bad, better or worse since O Neill brought him through. Desperately mediocre since O Neill left, Gabby has been more of a hindrance than a help. That's the sad truth. Enough is enough. Sherwood has not pulled any punches with the exception of Gabby.

We've got 3 points from 2 away games and one at home against a team we never beat. We've got a virtually new team, and we haven't been far away in the two defeats.

I think the jury is out on the jury being out.

3 difficult games and early days with new players to be sure.  But it's still Sherwood who is picking Gabby, which almost every man and his dog is utterly mystified by, and which does not do him any favours.

It's really hard to argue with any of this article.
Yes some truths in there.

The key questions to mull over are: Why did Sherwood go for broke, sacrificing midfield stability away from home to essentially go 4-2-4, and how did Agbonlahor, who largely wrecked every attacking move he touched, complete 90 minutes?

This board never ceases to amaze me! I was saying these things about Sherwood when we first appointed him, and again more recently and I was getting sneered at for being too negative :o

I'm quite willing to give him a go and judge him at the end of the season.  With that said does one badish result suddenly make him a bad appointment.  We're only three games into the season and at least are off the mark and have played reasonable in all three games IMO. Let's give it a couple of months and then see where we are ;)

I agree. I don't think long term he is good enough is my opinion.  But he certainly did enough at the end of last season to deserve a chance to prove me wrong.

we have lost five games out of the last six games including the cup final.....

I think we have brought in some very good players this summer and have a much better balanced squad

But honestly think this manager wont be any better than the last couple, utterly clueless tactically in the last two games, cup final and the Southampton game

Willing to give him time and mistakes like their second today cant be blamed on the manager

However Im firmly in the doubting timbo category

Me too, I just find it odd that people weren't in the doubting camp from the start or at least they didn't seem to be. They no point moaning now, you can debate whether Sherwood is a good choice or not, but he has been given the club's backing so we might as well see what he can do.

There were plenty of people in the doubting camp, but many of those tried to get behind him once he was appointed because we were in severe danger of getting relegated.

I think the jury is out on the jury being out.

add to that southampton burnley and the fa cup disgrace and the jury is definately out for me.

i love his enthusiasm but i am having serious concerns about his tactical awareness and his inability to make changes or the wrong changes

I like the way we can really ramp up the whinging by extending this season into last.
