When is he due back from his holiday ? It will be interesting summer and any ideas what kind of football team and players he will want to buy. Just hope we stop shopping in Aldi and Lidl of transfer markets.

I'm pretty sure that if Tom Fox had said to Sherwood "look, there won't be a single penny to spend but we're willing to offer you a four year contract on a couple of million pounds per year in charge of one of the five or six biggest clubs in the country off the back of your one competent half season of first-team management" then Sherwood would have bitten his hand off.

You really think that.  You must be wearing your claret and blue tinted glasses.  Don't you realise how far we have slipped.  Without some money, he would be in a worse position than when Lambert came in.  The odds would be completely stacked against him.  Why would Sherwood potentially risk his whole managerial career on that when he could wait around for an easier introduction into full management.  Granted the salary would not be so high elsewhere to start with but what you are saying would be like gambling everything on a single number at roulette.

That we haven't signed anyone yet is very worrying.

Doesn't Sinclair count?

Not really, that deal was done before Sherwood came in really. He doesn't seem keen on Sinclair imo. Hopefully Sinclair can put the head down this summer and put in a huge effort. Has plenty of talent for sure

Could he? Who are you thinking of that would offer him an easier route into management? He's not Jose Mourinho, he's not going to have Europe's top clubs beating a path to his door on the basis of six months at Spurs. He's going to get somebody desperate, like a Sunderland, a Newcastle - or indeed a Villa. Otherwise he'd be dropping down a division or two. Are any of those likely to be that much easier than the Villa job?

Sherwood doesn't strike me as somebody lacking self-confidence, and definitely not the type to see a job like Villa (regardless of how much he could spend) and think "nah, I don't think I'll be able to turn that around".

Paul Lambert's achievements with Norwich were greater than Sherwood's were at Spurs, yet he was more than happy to jump ship even with the remit of "cut the wage bill and don't spend much money". I can't see Tim Sherwood knocking around doing nothing, with every job that passes pushing his time as Spurs further from people's memories not wanting a crack at it, regardless of financial constraints.

Drinking a bottle of it as I write.

You make 'managing Villa without some money for transfers' sound like a walk in the park.  Why do you mention top clubs in Europe as that is totally unrealistic.  Easier jobs in management start away from the pressures of the PL.  What has happened to building a career first before moving to a PL club or bringing a club up.  Lambert did it but seemed to lose belief in himself and could not adapt but because he failed, it does not mean that all fail.  It is no wonder we have so few good British managers when everybody seems to think that their first job must be in the PL.

Bedwetters. King Goblin at 6.6% is a man's drink. Sometimes on three for a fiver with Sainsburys. No idea about those other shops. I don't go to fancy European stores.

Keep an eye out at Aldi in the random shit in the middle racks for the next couple of weeks. The fathers day stuff is in and it is well worth buying.

#sayitlikesherwood is soo #cringe ! it is unbelievable Villa market it like that and have Sherwood sayings . Sherwood comes out with it this will only boost his ego unnecessarily. Mourinho is top dollar but i could only think someone like Rodgers or Pardew would have this #sayitlikesherwood nonsense the rest of managers in premier league wouldnt have it endorsed

If the noses or Albion came out with a hash tag like that, we'd all be wetting ourselves.  It's cringworthy.

It would be quicker and easier if you just posted about the things you do like, then we could just assume you're not happy about everything else.

Apply that retrospectively and you'll get a post of zero.
