The difference with Liverpool is we clearly felt our midfield could out work and it play them, which we did. Yesterday I looked at the 5 in for Arsenal and just thought oh crap before a ball was kicked. They have a stunningly good midfield, and should be up there with Chelsea but Wenger refuses to buy basics to get them there.
I thought we tried to play the ball around early on but they were closing us down so well. I was hoping they would be off the pace but they weren't, unfortunately they played with a high tempo and pinged the ball around at pace. Said before, they would have beaten anyone (but not necessarily 4-0).

I fear this is as good as it gets for Sherwood . An fa cup final. I don't like fact he seemingly selects the British players preferring to get his English mentality across to the battle. I would think cissoko Sanchez and gill would have contributed as good if not more in matches ahead of his selections. And its noted his subs are like for like and not tactical. He's 46 and seems set in his ways. Get the ball into the striker was his ideology. TS bloody lucky we have benteke. I still feel the guy didn't excel himself on greatest stage and that will be held against him. Kept us up by 3 points. Granted but when the going gets tough we all see what he's about. Its all well a good saying won't be in a relegation battle but he hasn't shown the adaptability or any coaching nous of a pardew or pulis.

Iike this interview except the bit about justifying spend to the owners.

I think that's the case though at every club. I'm sure Pochettino will be sitting down with Levy, Rodgers with their transfer committee or whatever it is. Even Mourinho despite all his success probably doesn't have a blank cheque though it's probably not far off. The lower down the totem poll the more the manager has to justify what he wants to do. Sherwood will try to get as much as possible, and I hope he is successful in doing so.

Have a read of this. Sherwood tactics still seem the same.

Sherwood has not learnt anything IMHO after seeing defeats to Southampton, and then the fa cup final . He got the final all wrong and that annoys me.

No I understand that TV to be fair.  You could justify Messi doesn't mean to say the owners would pay for him :-)

How about Spurs fans worry about their own business and ask themselves how Mr Shit Tactics Tim went and beat their lot at White Hart Lane picking against a squad that cost a fraction of their? The genius manager of theirs with their superstar forward barely got a shot on goal in 90 minutes. They need to look after their own house before offer comment on their former manager.

It is the case at every club, yes, but not every club has a multi-year record of not really spending a great deal like we do.

I'm sure Mourinho, Rodgers and Pochettino don't have blank cheques either, but I don't imagine they'll be poking around the same pound shops Sherwood will be this summer

Wanting to sell is Lerner's ultimate get-out clause. Isn't interested any more, doesn't want to spend, trying to sell, perfect excuse.

I'm so tired of this bollocks, I can't wait till it stops.

Space between the lines - not dealt with v arsenal a year on !!
Drifting wide play maker coming inside- nzogbia AND grealish
High defensive line
A rise in defensive errors?!!
Long balls

All these tactics and issues were highlighted by spurs fans and are still glaringly occurring now at villa.

The fact that Lerner apparently politely declined to speak and leave it to the manager to explain everything says it all over again.

we all need certainty, and I'm sure that goes for Sherwood. I have no idea what shops Sherwood will be shopping in and how much influence the owner has on that. There were rumours last year that Lambert had more money than he spent for example. We can all but hope that Randy allows this situation never to repeat itself by funding properly irrespective of where he is in the sale of the club. We'll find out soon enough.
