Some really harsh comments. Many of the inherited players simply aren't good enough. TISH ( Tim Sherwood, I used it first, just in case he turns out to be shit!! 😁), needs to add to the squad but try to keep the few quality players we have got. I also think that he got it wrong yesterday but hasn't got the means at his disposal to do much else. Bringing in Sanchez would have meant us losing the ball even more often. Sinclair in for Zog might have been his only other real option. Gabby is clueless. We also expect way too much from young Jack at this stage. We were humiliated yesterday, globally too. That is what makes it hard for me. However, TISH is a winner and hopefully gave some of the players the stick they deserve. No Europa League might turn out to be a bonus, way too many games. However, the return to Wembley for the Community Shield game would have been a nice bonus.

He came to keep us up and did. I thought he wouldn't manage that. He deserves a chance.

However, despite the wins against Spurs and Liverpool, I feel that there is still evidence that he is a simpleton with little tactical knowledge. I still fear that we will discover that he has little substance to offer when the novelty of his fist-pumping bravoure (which made a refreshing change from Lambert's hapless defeatism) wears off.

Still, he is the guy we've got, so I hope he is the right man to rebuild the team from the ashes of a pretty lacklustre season.

I think he'll be gone by September. I mean, if the owner can't sell, and won't invest and Tim has asked senior players to sling their hook,   what quality of player is going to be brought in? If he doesn't get his winners, I can't see him sticking around. And who would blame him? If there isn't significant investment made during the summer, get your house on us going down.

Why are people suggesting Sherwood is going to leave? There's not much evidence of that at all really, it's just over the top nonsense.

Aye to say he will leave in the short term, a month into he season seems like nonsense.

Agree but the last three game of the season were worrying as they were as bad as the worst under Lambert.

A bad start next season and suddenly the fist pumping will be a distant memory.

Sherwood is correct that these are the same players that have scraped relegation four years in a row but he cant escape responsibility that easily for yesterday's pitiful surrender as much as he has tried to in the aftermath. Id be very worried that he has thrown Sinclair under the same bus as Gil i.e. he didnt buy them so he doesnt rate them.

Tactically we were crying out for another body to sit in front of Hutton from very early on but he had Nzogbia and Grealish running around hiding in the middle until Nzogbia's substitution. The other two substitutions beggared belief really, sure bring Bacuna on but moving Hutton to left back? Hutton wasnt far off our worst player yesterday but he has no chance at left back. We needed to bring Bacuna on after 30 mins yesterday with either Grealish or Nzogbia given the hook, sure it would have been harsh but its the cup final and managers are paid to make big calls.

I thought in the build up to yesterday that at least Sherwood would be able to get a performance out of the players so we could give Arsenal a game.

but I couldnt have been more wrong

will be very interested to see who he brings in with the Benteke money plus the wage bill being freed up by the likes of Vlaar and Bent gone too. Sincerely hope Steven Caulker isnt on his wish list as I suspect he is.

Given how bad we had to get in order for Lambert to be fired, I can't see him being sacked regardless of how well we start the season.

And he doesn't seem like the type to resign.

Let's hope that the Liverpool/Everton/Spurs Tim Sherwood is the actual one, not the Southampton/Burnley/Arsenal one.

I was 100% happy with the appointment and thought he was the shot in the arm that the club needed to keep us up .Long term I'm worried and I must admit the alarm bells started ringing when he bellowed Pride at the players , having done nothing to change the way we were playing when we getting mullered by Sourhampton

At worst, he'll end up a sort of managerial Darren Bent for us - inadequate long-term, but the only thing which could've saved us in the short-term. But that's the worst-case. Realistically, very few of us know which of the two Sherwoods we've been presented with is the real one, but given the striking resemblence of 'team Bad Sherwood' to 'team Lambert', I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for the time being.

He strikes me as the kind of bloke who won't tolerate continuous failure. Unlike Lambert who would have hung around, Sherwood would say stuff it if he's not backed.

This. He seems to veer between getting it very right and very wrong. We'll know by the end of next year.

If he is buying one of his ex Spurs defenders from a relegated side I wouldn't mind Dawson. Although I was surprised when I realised he was 31 now. I thought he was about 27.

Today, Burnley, Southampton...
With Lamberts team - which would have been relegated with Lambert in charge. Let's see how he does once he starts buying players and moving dross elsewhere.

He managed to beat Liverpool, Everton, West Brom, Spurs, West Ham etc with Lambert's team.

It can't be all Sherwood when we win and all Lambert when we lose.
