He came to keep us up and did. I thought he wouldn't manage that. He deserves a chance. However, despite the wins against Spurs and Liverpool, I feel that there is still evidence that he is a simpleton with little tactical knowledge. I still fear that we will discover that he has little substance to offer when the novelty of his fist-pumping bravoure (which made a refreshing change from Lambert's hapless defeatism) wears off.Still, he is the guy we've got, so I hope he is the right man to rebuild the team from the ashes of a pretty lacklustre season.
Aye to say he will leave in the short term, a month into he season seems like nonsense.
At worst, he'll end up a sort of managerial Darren Bent for us - inadequate long-term, but the only thing which could've saved us in the short-term. But that's the worst-case. Realistically, very few of us know which of the two Sherwoods we've been presented with is the real one, but given the striking resemblence of 'team Bad Sherwood' to 'team Lambert', I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for the time being.

Id be very worried that he has thrown Sinclair under the same bus as Gil i.e. he didnt buy them so he doesnt rate them.Tactically we were crying out for another body to sit in front of Hutton from very early on but he had Nzogbia and Grealish running around hiding in the middle until Nzogbia's substitution. The other two substitutions beggared belief really, sure bring Bacuna on but moving Hutton to left back? Hutton wasnt far off our worst player yesterday but he has no chance at left back. We needed to bring Bacuna on after 30 mins yesterday with either Grealish or Nzogbia given the hook, sure it would have been harsh but its the cup final and managers are paid to make big calls.I thought in the build up to yesterday that at least Sherwood would be able to get a performance out of the players so we could give Arsenal a game.but I couldnt have been more wrongwill be very interested to see who he brings in with the Benteke money plus the wage bill being freed up by the likes of Vlaar and Bent gone too. Sincerely hope Steven Caulker isnt on his wish list as I suspect he is.

Although I was surprised when I realised he was 31 now. I thought he was about 27.
